Just thinking this morning about those who you tell about your diet and all they do is say... Well you'll gain your weight back or any diet that's 500 calories you'll lose weight, or there's no way you can just stop and not gain weight back. Or the typical medical professionals response "Eat less, exercise more!' That's easy for someone who is in good shape to say. But have twins, a hysterctomy, arthritis, and work in food service and tell me you don't have trouble losing weight. Back 13 years ago, the atkins diet started getting popular and there were so many naysayers then. I bought the book and read it. Wow was I enlightened. I revere the late Dr. Atkins, he knew what he was talking about. All the other doctors were pushing fen-phen then, not a good combo as it turns out. In fact I took it and only lost 10 pounds, my husband lost 30. After Dr. Atkins died it seems several copy cat diets have cropped up, some lower in fat, some with pretty pictures of beaches and fish on the covers of their books. Doctors and medical weight loss clinics are now reporting the benefits of protein and low carbs. (it use to be oh all that protein is bad for you and your kidneys! It's only bad if you are on dialysis). Granted I had trouble staying on the protein low carb diet - let's face it women need carbs to keep up with little children and we often reach for the quickest easiest way - breads, cookies, donuts, soda. Instead we should have reached for the apple, strawberries or other fruits and whole grain breads. So after all the yo-yo dieting between me and my husband, he was getting sicker each year and his dad passed away after losing both legs to diabetes, I started looking for a way to get the weight off him and me. I found the HCG Diet. Tried the homeopathic version, talked to weight loss doctors, and finally figured out how to be a do-it-yourselfer and take charge of our health. In less than a month my husband has lost 25 pounds and me 17! We are eating better than ever before. In fact I made chopped oven potatoes tossed in olive oil and onion seasoning for the kids last night to go with our baked chicken. Well I told my husband to taste how good the potatoes were and he tasted and then spit it out! He is so gung ho about this diet that he will not cheat even a teensy bit. I'm often tempted to cheat, but the weight loss is keeping me going and seeing my husband feel better is motivation too. He said his heart beat has stablized - his resting heart rate used to be around 100. A forty year old man should have a resting heart rate of between 65-75. He has got it to about 80 now. He has about 50 more pounds to go. People who are overweight have a hard time getting going, because exercise actually hurts our bodies, but let us lose first then we can focus on that exercise we need. Last time my husband and I tried to jog he got bad shin-splints and my ankles hurt so bad I could hardly walk. I actually feel like running now when I get going. Anyway, so when the naysayers get you down, just remember this is working for many people. So all you hcger's keep on going, you are doing this for your health and to feel better!

Freckles that was a awesome story!!!! It just amazes me to see the health benefits associated with doing the HCG! I tend to just ignore all those naysayers because you can't knock something you haven't personally tried. I have felt better this past month than I have in the past 5 years!! I couldn't have worded what you said any better!! You & your hubby are a real testimate to why this diet works!
  1.
I am so grateful for this diet!!
I had tried everything since I went through menopause, and nothing worked. I had given up on ever feeling good again, and almost became a hermit since retirement. I dreaded getting dressed to go out anywhere. I had to go to my son's wedding feeling like I could not get through it, and hoping he would not be ashamed of me. Course, he didn't, but I felt terrible, and didn't enjoy it like I should have. While shopping for a dress to wear, I was constantly in tears, after going to every store, and could not find an appropiate dress to wear. I finally gave up, and purchased a 2-piece pants outfit..not what I wanted, but it hid the fat, even if I did look like an elephant..:(
I can't believe what this new lease on life has done for me!
I look forward to putting on my skinny jeans and going out anywhere, now.
My daughter has severe wt problems, and other personal problems. I bought hcg for her, and am praying she will follow through, and also get a new lease on life!
I am trying to get my hubby to start the diet after the new year, as he needs to lose too. He has blood pressure problems, and I believe this would help get him off of those meds.
Please say a prayer for my daughter, as she needs all the help she can get.

Thank you. As they say in the south "Proofs in the pudding!" or we should say "Proofs in the fat lost!" Just 5 minutes ago, my niece called me and said I was just looking at a photo of you a couple of months ago and YOU HAVE LOST weight. She said she didn't see it before, but in the photo my middle was definitely thicker. I've lost almost 3 inches in my hips and gut.

ndoles: As for young daughters being overweight. A lot of times it is the same as our weight problems, they tend to binge or reach for those carbs to help them feel better. A few years ago, I decided to only buy olive oil, whole wheat bread and stopped buying sodas. Our son and daughter were starting to have weight problems. They have pretty good metabolisms so making healthy changes now can help them quickly. Getting them active also helps. When there are no snacks in the house except air popped popcorn, apples and yogurt, they will start to reach for that instead of cookies and junk. I don't buy chips or cookies or candy, unless it is a holiday now. They grumbled at first, but now don't even miss the snack foods. My son is in sports now with his growth he is a normal weight. My daughter is still a few pounds over, but in a couple of years of eating right she will be at a normal weight. Have your daughter look at the website 45pounds.com they have some good advice for kids she might follow. Also get her to switch bad carbs for good. Losing weight will also help her moods and self esteem, but you have to be so careful about pushing since it can make them rebel and go the other way. Good luck and I will definitely pray for her.

Have your husband watch some of the youtube videos of men that have lost weight. It got my husband on board and once he starts to feel better, he will be all for this diet. :)

i think the best "revenge" for those kinds of comments is to lose the weight, and keep it off. i had many people raising an eyebrow about how i was losing weight- none of that are doing them now- they're all on the protocol!
