I am on R1 day 8 and I have lost 9-10 lbs, but for the last two days I have only lost .4 is this normal? Can you have garlic salt it there is no sugar in it?
The average weight loss for women is around 1/2 a pound a day. For men it's 1 pound a day. Both are averaged over the whole course of the round, and most people seem to lose more at first than they do later on.
Sounds like you want to get a copy of Pounds and Inches. That's got the whole protocol in it. There's a link up in the top left corner of each page here "Dr ATW Simeons Pounds and Inches". Click that, download it, and read it through. That explains all.
If it's just garlic and salt, you can use it but be careful of using too much salt - it might make you retain water. I used garlic salt on P2 and I was satisfied with my losses the day after.
As a caution, there is a McCormick Garlic Salt that has oil in the ingredients (SALT, GARLIC, CALCIUM SILICATE (ADDED TO MAKE FREE FLOWING), AND GARLIC OIL). I'm sure it's a teensy amount but I'd still stay away from it.
Yes, I saw that one at the store and did not buy it because of that reason! I have another question on the melba toast it comes in half pieces, are we supposed to only have one half or the two that make the whole? And the bread sticks mine say made with oil is that okay or no?
The melba toast I have lists the following nutrition information: 60 calories for 3-pieces (the "pieces" look like half a bread). I eat 1-piece, which is 20 calories per serving or 40 calories/day. If you ate two servings of 2-pieces/ day, you'd consume 80 calories/day of melba toast instead of 40 calories. I think the extra 40 calories is better used on veggies.
I don't use breadsticks but I'd assume if they're made with oil that you should stay away from it. I eat the Old London brand - salt free, whole grain - melba toast, which doesn't have oil listed as an ingredient. I think the other varieties by this brand are okay too; I chose this one because the salt free and whole grain made it sound a bit healthier.
beans - you wait 6 weeks between your first and second round. During the first 3 weeks - P3- you can eat anything except for starches and sugars. This includes starchy vegetables. During the second 3 weeks - P4 -you slowly add starches and sugers. During both P3 and P4 you will continue to loose inches but not pounds. You will find out what foods cause you to gain weight or make you not feel well.
