Thanks for the link! She said to think "higher fats and lower protein and carbs". I thought we were supposed to have higher protein too.

Yeah that was one of the things I thought about too but it is still a good quick glance reminder

Thanks for the link! I have a question..do you continue with VLCD for 3 days after your last injection? It seems like I read that but cannot seem to find it.

yes carolyn -- you stop shots/drops and stay on VLCD for 72 hours more. You have to let the Hcg get out of your system. Take it slow when you start eating P3 -- most of us suggest upping your P2 foods for the first few days -- that first week is whacky. LA

I interpret the fat/protein statements differently. Tip #3 says to start slowly in P3 and start out by doubling the protein you had from P2.

I interpret the other paragraph to say that, in general, the US places too much emphasis on protein instead of fats and that we should change our thinking by lowering our protein intake and increasing our fats. I don't think she is telling us to have more fats than protein on this diet. I think she is saying, diet or no diet, we eat more protein than we should and aren't getting enough fat, in general. Just my opinion.

The only thing I really take issue with on that page is the statement about "working out your mind". While it's a good idea, generally, the brain doesn't consume more calories when you're thinking than it does when you're daydreaming. It can help with cognition and memory retention, but it won't help burn calories.

i think it's good to not think of fats as "bad"- but in general, i think we eat far too little protein in the US, not too much. and way too many carbs.

You're right the majority of people in America are overweight to obese and I do think this is because of chemicals causing an addiction to sugar which comes from carbs.

You mean sitting here in my chair writing isn't burning any calories? Oh the horror! ;-)
