Okay, so here is the scoop. Yesterday was my last injection and I awoke at 4am for an early flight to a 2.5lb gain! Well, needless to say I flipped!!! It could be TOM, but I don't know because I got Novasure done and I don't have "regular" periods anymore, however still get the lovely sympotoms. So because I went into a panic and was busy travelling all day, (Seattle to Boise and back) I decided to do a "steak day" I just ate a big steak with a tomatoe and now my belly is making some crazy noises!!!
Well, when I sat down to think about it I am wondering if steak days are not ONLY for after your 72 hours??? I am sooo confused and hoping that I did not just mess everything up.
gogirl68.... don't panic. Technically,yes,...... steak days are for after the 72 hour time after last injection. BUT...remember, don't panic..... Part of your weight gain could be getting up so early. Many people on the forum say that if they don't weigh at the same time everyday it is reflected in their weight. If you ate a giant steak already, don't panic. See what the scale says tomorrow and just go back to vcld for 2 more days. After you have reached your 72 hour mark...see what your weight is. If you are still 2.1 over LIW after the 72 hours then you can do another steak day....although some prefer a very high protein day...which is P2 food tripled or quadrupled with a minimum of 1500 calories.....p2 food but much more. (Many of us on p3 go up to 3000 calories with no weight gain. You need to set your metabolism high. ) Check your weight the next day...I bet you'll be down to under 2.1 over LIW. There is no mistake you can make on this diet that you can't rebound from if you just get back on the wagon. it will be ok. : )
you will probably have a wt gain but only due to water retention from all of the travel. Don't sweat it. It wasn't that bad. Just go back to the VLCD until you get to 72 hours. It will come back off.
My first thought was that it was probably weighing so early in the morning especially if you didn't get a full nights sleep. Then add the possibility of TOM and that's probably all it was. I've heard also that air travel can cause hugh gains on the scale but they aren't real.
If TOM ends up coming you can just use your LIW as the day before you had the big gain.
Apple day is for P2 and Steak day is for P3 & P4. Just give yourself a couple of days to adjust to all of this, you'll be fine :~)
I got up once around 3 or 4 am and weighed myself and really was bummed with the number. Then i went back to bed and woke up at 8 am was seriously 1.5 pounds lighter. Weird as heck, but the losses went from there.
THANK YOU everyone for your feedback...and I was back down to 173 this morning at 6am....yeah!!!!! I never realized weighing so early in the am would have that big of a flucuation. I had my steak and tomato last night and went to Zumba for an hour and back down to my number. Appreciate the feedback and don't know how I would survive without all of you<3
I got up this morning and weighed at 6 AM. Then, I weighed again at 7:30...my normal time...and the scale had gone down .4. I only had a couple sips of water in the hour and a half.
