So, I've been stalled hard for days, and every time I thought I would be down, I was slightly up. Yesterday I was at 241.6. It was my last VLCD before my short holiday break. As the day wore on, I actually got hungry enough for my stomach to rumble, so I ate some extra chicken - at least 100g. Still hungry, so I ate some more. I thought for sure I would be up this morning. Nope. I was at 240, my lowest weight so far!! Very, very strange.

Maybe you needed more protein. Lack of protein will make you gain (water weight).

I've had the same thing. I think when you are feeling really weak and hungry, it serves your weight loss to eat a little extra. Otherwise you get that starvation mode effect.

I did my P3 eating yesterday, and I'm down to 239.6!

I don't know what that long stall was all about. Maybe I really was eating too little, and my body started holding on to the weight. I didn't have rumbling in my stomach during the stall, and I was able to sleep ok, so I don't know how much of the hunger was mental. I was mainly during the day that I had food on my mind - like...all the time.

You sound like me, hungrier than most. Maybe having extra calories to burn kicked up your metabolism?

That is possible. I haven't really felt weak like some people describe, but I have felt cold a lot.

I was already eating more protein than P2 specified. Instead of 100g of raw weight, I would weigh the meat cooked. Sometimes I might eat 120g instead of 100g. I thought I could get away with not being too careful, because last round I ate extra protein and still lost fine. This time I was stalling like crazy. I should have journaled my food so I would have a better idea of what was doing it to me. I didn't eat melba toast every day, and I kept myself to no more than 2 fruits per day - usually apples. I would sometimes skip veggies if I couldn't find something I wanted to eat. Other times I would eat a lot, if I was eating something like asparagus or broccoli. It seemed like no matter what I did, my weight didn't want to move much. Then I took that last shot, and on the last day of VLCD I ate about 150 extra grams of chicken. The weight went down by over a pound. That is just crazy. I don't understand it, but I like it.

I sure hope this means I will lose another 10lbs when I finish up my last two weeks of P2 after Thanksgiving.

I've had two good long stalls on P2. The last was nine days. There are so many possible factors.

I also eat more than 100, often 120 to 130 grams. The other day i had a whole extra portion of meat bc i was feeling pretty run down and hungry, and i lost a pound the next morning. I also still drink protein shakes anywhere from 1-3 times a day.

I've got 5 days of P2 left. I've lost four pounds in the last five days after nine day of nothing, and very slow loss before that for a week. Go figure!

I'm learning to tune into my body more. Some days i'm fine on just the 500 cal. Other days i need more. When i'm rested and i haven't had smooth move or magnesium at night, i feel better. I think it really throws off my electrolyte balance and hence my energy. But being constipated starts to run me down too. I'm just now figuring all this out. I should be an expert by R2!
