I had a grilled chicken spinach salad (no dressing of course) on P2 without any issues.

I ate the naked taco salads at the burrito joints several times (lettuce, chicken or steak, and pico de gallo) on P2. The only other times I ate out have been protein salads with absolutely no dressing. I got away with it, but I was disciplined and waited until the 2nd week to do it. You can't go into a restaurant on P2 with the mindset that you will be getting something the restaurant is good at making. I agree with the others, you'll have plenty of time in P3 and P4 to enjoy the rest, but it can be done...CAREFULLY.

I went to Chili's 3 times and lost each time! Order the side salad - lettuce only and a 4 oz grilled chicken breast - be sure to specify because they offer two sizes. It's a real drag to pay $8.00 for the meal, but you can still enjoy the company and feel somewhat "normal".

kimbo- most likely any kind of sauce will have both fat and sugar in it- both pretty deadly on P2. but it's all a matter of knowing the "cost", and then deciding if it's worth it or not. as colleen said, you'd likely gain some and then stall for about 3 days. not the end of the world, but if that's going to bum you out then it's better not to.

btw, at some places "grilled chicken" means that they cook it in butter on the grill! i know this is the case at cracker barrel. and even though i requested they cook it without fat, it was still marinated in something that definitely had sugar in it.

for the most part i avoid eating out while on P2. i figure for the little amount i can eat, it's not worth the price of the food.

Hi guys Im back and I think I did really good...had half the chicken I asked the waitstaff to not put anything on the chicken and bring everything on the side...I had asparagus just steamed and my melba toast. Skipped the broccoli and the apricot puree I dipped my chicken in it a couple times for flavor and wiped most of it off before I actually ate it...Im proud of myself no breadsticks or wine (missed that most of all...LOL) or the yummy salad...we will see. Thanks so much for the info and the encouragment! You guys are the greatest!

Good for you, Kimbo! I'm like Margie. What pains me the most is paying all that money for the fraction of the food we actually eat when eating out...That's why I order the chicken/bowtie/brocoli thing and have them box up the sauce and the pasta..At least I feel that the kids get a meal out of it too later!! But congratulations! You did very well!!

Thanks Deb! I feel really positive about it...I watched everyone eating and thnking how much they take for granted to be able to eat anything they want. I cannot do that I am pushing borderline diabetic and refuse to let it get me...I feel good on this and I havent even had to take a Xanax at all! I have a lot of anxiety so in order to relax I would take a half a one before bed...I also feel better not eating all that junk and chocolate...I admit it I love fast food...I feel empowered driving by instead of driving thru...get it I made a funny...sorry lost my mind for a sec. Anyway wind bag that I am apoligizes for the long drawn out post...thanks so much Deb and everyone I am so glad I found this forum!

kim- junk and sugar really mess with brain chemistry, which causes more anxiety, which causes you to eat more junk, etc. you might want to pick up a copy of "the mood cure"- i found it quite insightful.
