I have been gleaning so much from these posts trying to prepare myself for when I start P2 in January.
One thing that I thought would be very interesting and helpful would be to find out from those who are experienced with at least 1 round....

....Reflecting back to when you did R1P2....Is there anything that you wish you would have known THEN that you know NOW???
If you were to do P2 any differently, how would that be?
What are some common mistakes that you know of that you can help us rookies avoid??

All imput is GREATLY appreciated ;o)
    Thankful People: Jerseygirl

I don't mean to ruffle any feathers bc it's worked for a great many, but trying the homeopathic hcg was a nightmare for me.

I would have tried cucumbers sooner. I had great losses with them but I ate them the last week. I would be careful with laxative teas. I had one that dehydrated me badly. I would not have cut out my fruit completely. I would just eat strawberries one time a day. I got really sick from not eating enough natural sugar and carbs (fruit). I would have kept exercising and not stopped.

I would suggest that you measure yourself on day one so that when you go through stalls or even when you're in P3 and P4 you can see that the protocol is about more than the scale, it's about inches as well. I didn't measure myself until R2 and really regret it.

The other thing is to find recipes that you're pretty sure you'll like and make sure you have everything you need to make them so that you don't get bored as fast with he foods. I really found the flavored stevia to be great for adding to my coffee or mineral water in my second round and wish I had taken the advice to get it for my forst round, it helped me feel like I was getting normal that tasted really good.

The other thing is to really try to take it easy on yourself. I really did feel pretty good in both rounds but you really are putting your body through alot so rest when you can and choose to avoid stressful situations as much as possible. I'm not saying that you'll be weak or feel bad but there have been some times that I realized that I really needed to take it a little easier. When Dr. S did this he had people come to his clinic, it kind of sounds like were basically on vacation if they didn't live in the area. We live very fast paced lives and I'm kind of seeing that there are more changes I need to make in my life besides losing weight and eating better. I had to quit my last round early because there was just way to much going on and it was having an effect on me. In future rounds I'm going to say NO to things that I know will be stressful or will take too much time and energy.

Sometimes there are things that you know, but you don't really know, down bone-deep, and you won't know them that way until you've done them and learned for yourself.

I knew that cheating on hcg would be a much bigger deal than cheating on a regular diet. I'd read it, so I knew it. But I didn't get it deep down until I cheated and paid the price. I wasted a third of my round because of a stupid cheat that I knew would cost me. Now, though, I really get how much cheating costs, and I won't do it again.

Oh, and I wish I would have taken some pictures of myself before I started the hcg. I've done one round and I look so much different than I did. I wish I had before pictures so I could compare them to after pictures. One more round and I'll be at my goal weight.

Take pictures...for sure! I wish I had!!! Also making sure that you get around 120 oz of water or more a day. It helps keep everything moving if you know what I mean...lol.

I found that for me eating my apple at lunch and grapefruit at dinner worked best for me...its different for everyone but trying different foods at the same time for a couple days and seeing what helps you most is a good idea.

Last but not least...LOAD LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW!! Oh and load on high fat foods...not necessarily high sugar/carb foods. think high fat sausages. Huge bacon cheese burgers....as many as you can eat! Cheese cheese and more cheese...and cheesecake if you like....lol. You need to eat till you feel like your going to throw up...and then take tums and eat some more. Lol. You'll need it that first week! I know it feels counter intuitive to do it but I had much more success!!

I second the loading suggestion. I didn't eat enough, and I was ravenously hungry for the first week and a half. It was torture.

Also, don't restrict salt. Your body needs it, and you'll be getting far less than usual with the little food you'll be eating. If you drink large amounts of water, you'll need the salt to keep your body in balance.

I thought of another one - I discovered something called "SmartWater" - just bottled water, but it also has calcium, potassium and magnesium. All things that the water will be flushing out of your system and that helps replenish them. I drink one a day and haven't had some of the problems others have had.
