It's the combo of the two. But the weeks of pure eating start the cycle and form the habit that you try to cement in p3. Many are not the same weight all through p3...it may take until the third week of p3 to finally stabilize.
Phen is a amphetamine, and it didn't exist during Dr S's time, to my knowledge. The part of the Phen fen drug that caused valve damage was taken off the market, leaving just plain phen (or is it fen? who knows :)). Anyhow, as an amphetamine it depletes your natural catacholamine reserves, making you less able to handle the stress of surgery....that is why we want it discontinued prior to surgery.
RN, I'd like to know how you're doing. Are you still in P2? Have you stabalized well? The clinic I went through did prescribe phentramine, but I didn't feel the need to take it.
It's the hcg that rests the hypothalamus. The actual eating isn't much different from what I've tried many, many times. Dr S says the hcg is what rests the hypo and I totally believe him after seeing it work that way on so many people. Colleen, still in sunny St Croix until Wed.
I lost my weight down to 118 on phentermine, had no maintenance like we do, gained it back...I am a nurse, and my heart and numbers to labs, and thyroid and such is great. NO heart problems whatsoever.I thought about doing it now, if i could trust the pharmacies online. I don't know any more.
