If anyone is interested in getting "sugar free" and "33% low sodium" bacon, Plumrose and Smithfield bacon makes it. I get it at Shoprite but I am sure most supermarkets will have it too.

I just bought the Kroger's sugar free brand and ate it this morning. Delish!

Has anyone done any taste comparisons of the sf bacon brands? I have the Kroger Reduced Sodium right now and it's good, but isn't as good as "real" bacon, imo. I'm wondering if anyone can compare it with any of these others? If some are better, I'll search them out, but it hasn't been easy finding bacon I gotta say!

I use walmart great value low sodium. I searched EVERY store within a 30 mile radius and it's all I could ever find! I never had a problem with it, and actually like it better than regular bacon.

I saw an empty shelf where the Target bacon was the other day, so I haven't given up that I might find another brand somewhere. Otherwise, I may try regular bacon with the lowest sugar and see what happens. Seems like a lot of people do this (as well as have Ranch dressing with sugar).

My husband and I love the Target bacon. I don't see a reason to buy any other brand. I don't need the sugar, and the lower sodium is good, since other bacon can be way too salty.

MissLori---I started out with the Target bacon, and I do love it. Eventually I tried whatever was on sale that had a low sugar content, and did fine with it, too. I had the same reasoning as you, because I was eating ranch once daily on my salad. After the first cautious week, I stabilized under LDW, so not an issue for me during that P3. I am on my last 2 days of this P2 and will begin P3 on Monday. I hope that stays true for me again with the bacon and ranch. Some say that all of their rounds are different, so I guess I will proceed with caution like it's my first one instead of my second P3. Good luck with your bacon. Only on this forum would I utter those words to someone. lol
