Hi. I'm on R2 and I've noticed something within myself and a few others. Sometimes it takes a week to lose, say 4 lbs. But if you cheat, or eat a lot of carbs while on hcg, you regain all that back overnight? Why? It takes 3000 calories over what your body needs to live to gain one pound. So, if you regain 4lbs overnight, that's saying you ate 12000 calories, which of course, you didn't.
Some of the weight can be water weight, but not much. There has to be another explanation. Even on P3, I've gained up to 4 pounds by adding too many carbs.
    Any input is appreciated.
    Thanks.

one pound is actually 3500 calories. you actually do gain a lot of water weight, if you have not been eating carbs for a while and then suddenly do.

Because calories in/calories out doesn't work. LOL

If I eat 1600 calories a day, of mostly carbs, I will gain a pound every day for as long as I do that. Ha

I WISH it was calories in/calories out! If only I had a body that tolerated my beloved carbs.... :o)

From what I've discovered, not all calories are created equal. Carb calories are more difficult for a lot of people to get rid of than say, protein calories. I know my body LOVES to hold onto anything carb related. Give me a couple of slices of white bread and even though it's only about 220 calories (max), my weight would be up for about a week. Sigh.

I really wish someone could find a way to tweek this so you could have atleast one complex carb every two to three days!

that would be nice.... there are a few people out there who eat about 1/2 piece of ezekial or some other healthy bread every day instead of the 2 melba toast, but not many can get away with that.

I may try it. I do some light exercise at the gym. It is really my only social outlet and I don't want to give it up. Maybe that will offset the small carb. I am interested in trying the new noodles that are suppose to be for the hcg diet. I can't remember what they are called though.

Miracle Noodles. They aren't officially on the diet, but they have no calories. Use the Search tab at the top of this page, and you'll find threads on them.

    dwnszmom,
I'm not sure if miracle noodles and shiratake noodles are the same thing, but I love the Shirtake noodles. I put them in stir fry veggies and chicken. Love them! Even my kids will eat them and they hate tofu. I'm still in P3, so I won't eat them until P4, because they have tofu and yam flour, neither of which is ok in P3. :)
