DebbyM46227 - I also have hypothyroidism and have been on levothyroxine for about 2 yrs. I have found it so hard to lose weight. What is Armour? I have a dr appt next week and would like to ask her about it. I start my VLCD1 tomorrow and am worried that my losses will be low or none due to my thyroid problem. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks....
I also take Levothyroxine. I used to take Armour. Armour is a natural where Levotyroxine is a synthetic. So being into natural you would think I'd want to stick with the Armour. But the fact of the matter for some reason the synthetic works better. That's what I was told by the medical profession (and by doctors into the natural route) and for me it seems to be true.
I take my Levo in the morning and don't take my HCG for another hour just to make sure there is no interference. And I too lose slowly. I don't know if Armour over Levo would help over that but after taking Armour for many years I kind of doubt it.
I have known of Kevin Trudeau for many years and read much of his stuff. I think he tends to go overboard on his issues and following all of his advice would make my life very difficult. After reading his take on things I always feel like I might as well just lock myself and never eat another thing because everything is evil. Although I think he truly believes in what he writes and isn't just doing it to make money. He isn't an evil person.
But the diet came from Dr. Simeon and if you use his protocol it is very simple. KT has added a lot of things that are his point of view. And probably is all very healthy. But it can make the diet much more expensive and confusing.
I hope everyone reads Pounds and Inches because then no matter what else you read you know the basic basic and can make your decisions based on the original information.
I'm new here for posting but have lurked for a while learning what I can. You are all an inspiration. :) As far as Kevin Trudeau is concerned, I don't know him personally but I do listen to his radio show online and he admits to doing things in the past that may have been questionable but I believe he is trying to help the public be informed now. Much of what he talks about I have known for years in the health arena, as well as other controversial things he speaks about, so I know he is being pretty truthful there. I'm also thankful to him for bringing HCG into light for us to finally cure our weight issues and health. Sure he can make lots of money with his books and pushing products but much of the money goes to defending himself in court when he's being vilified and charged with things he just shouldn't be by these powerful goons in control. He's not the enemy now. His sponsors also help to keep him on the air so he can continue to inform us of health issues and conspiracies that are no longer theories imo. I applaud him for standing up the the thugs of big Pharma and huge corporations that try to keep us fat and sick for their own gain and hide the truth from us and in some ways I think Kevin is possibly redeeming himself from questionable motives in the past. Again just my opinion. :) I love listening to his wealth of knowledge which has catapulted me into taking control of my own health so nobody else can control it with drugs and so called health care practices. :) I am following the original Pounds and Inches Protocol though until I'm done, with very little straying. I do use as close to organic as I can and it tastes much better.
rhennessy46- Thanks for the info. I'm on VLCD1 and still feel "blah". I know, I have high expectations. Just want to have a big loss by VLCD2. I have a question. I'm on the shots and I saw someone on another thread say that they are trying to do IM injections with a diabetic needle and she's giving it to herself in the thigh. I was told to give in the stomach and I use a TB needle. Not sure exactly what to do. Hope I'm not doing it wrong and wasting the hcg. Can anyone help on this subject???? I'm a nurse and have given IM injections before. There's no way to give with a insulin or TB syringe except subcutaneously.
blue- you're fine. you can only reach muscle with an insulin needle if you're quite thin, and even so you're not going to get far enough into the muscle for it to work as IM should. some people feel the IM (1.5" needles) injections work better, as this is what was done with the original protocol.
rhenn- the armour is to increase levels of T3, the levo for T4- i take both.
Actually Armour increases all the Ts. It has them all: T1-T4. It works way better, blue eyed girl. Many women don't convert the T4 well because progesterone levels are too low. I feel MUCH better on Armour or another natural thyroid. Colleen
Thanks grammy. I'm going to ask my doctor about it tomorrow. Where can I get this from? I read some on the website that you supplied and it seems that I have been having a lot of the same problems that others have on levothyroxine. I do have symptoms of depression, etc...... but have never wanted to get on anti-depressants. I looks like Armour was reformulated and a lot of people are not buying this anymore. Says their hypo symptoms came back. Is this true? Lot of people going to other brands. I do get on this "natural" supplement, should I still take the levothyroxine? Do I need a prescription for this? Do you feel like this has helped your weight loss? Thanks for any information...
mgsondance-- thank you too for the info. So I wonder if I should try to do IM? Do you think this would give a better chance at weight loss? I'm at 150 IUs and I'm still hungry. I know it's only VLCD2 but I've read that some people are not hungry from the beginning if they are at their correct dose. I'm scared to go up anymore because per Dr. S's protocol, too much is not always a good thing. I don't want to increase too much and reverse the effects.
I know of a great, I mean amazing scientist, which has helped me so much with all my issues regarding hormones that no other doctor was able to do, and he has told me what a horrible person Kevin Trudeau is. Before Kevin Trudeau would actually sell products that were suppose to cure cancer and practically save your life, but had so many law suits from people, and so many complaints that the FDA had to ban him from selling products. So now he is only allowed to sell books. He is a millionaire a hundred times over and he writes horrible misleading information and packages it as the gospel truth. I know that there are hundreds of ordinary ingredients that can help many sicknesses, (for example cinnamon helps maintain sugar levels, and that the pharmaceutical companies are not the greatest) but for a man to blatantly lie to sell products and for him to be sued so many times by ordinary individuals is enough for me not to trust him. I believe he is a genius business man, for he found a hot topic, such as HCG diet, and wrote a whole book simply adding bonus info to the original diet that doctor (Simeons) who actually did the work and had a proper study developed. Just be cautious.
