So I only have 3 more pounds to loose until i start P3 and i'm getting ready by looking up different recipes and whatnot. I've browsed through some forums on here and I had a couple questions:

1)Has anyone gained when eating califlower (to make breadsticks, waffles, etc)? And is it really safe?? How much califlower are you allowed to eat in a day? (i'm confused since we can't eat sugars or starches and i was thinking all breads=starch, but supposedly califlower is safe...?)

    2) I noticed someone posted this link for some recipes made with califlower- http://cleochatra.blogspot.com/ . Are all of these considered safe??

3)I can find sugar on nutrition labels but how do i find out which foods contain starch or not?

    4) Does anyone have any P3 recipes or a link for p3 Recipes they could share?

Any info I can get, i would REALLY appreciate. Thanks so much :)

most of cleo's recipes are P3 friendly, just look at the ingredients she uses and if something doesn't look right, then it's probably best to skip over it.

Linda's low carb site has some great recipes too...

As far as starches, anything with flour, wheat, grains, potatoes, corn, carrots..that type of thing. If something is very high in carbs, check the ingredients to see what is in it.

cauliflower is a vegetable and is fine for P3..the bread made with cauliflower is just cauliflower, eggs, and mozzarella..all of which are P3 friendly.

Just wondering if anyone uses the South Beach Diet Recipes on P3? I did SB after I had my first baby and it seems the requirements are similar. Anyone try this? I am only on VLCD6, but will be on vacation when i go into p3, so i am trying to prepare my mind for then!!

I personally react to cauliflower but I've heard that zucchini and some squash can work just as well.

    Phase 3 recipe

    Asparagus Frittata

    2 tsp. olive oil
    1 small onion thinly sliced
    1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb asparagus, tough ends snapped off, spears cut diagonally into 1 " lengths
    4 large eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 to 1 cup shreadded swiss cheese

Heat olive oil in a 10 " oven-proof frying pan over med high heat. Add onions and salt, cook, stirring occasionally until onions are soft, about 3 min.
Add asparagus, reduce heat and cook about 6 min. Pour in eggs and cook until eggs are almost set, but still runny on top (do not stir). While cooking pre-heat oven broiler.
Sprinkle cheese over eggs and put under broiler until cheese melts. Remove from oven with mitt and slide onto a plate. Cut into wedges and enjoy!

    4 servings

I haven't tried it but I think you could use broccoli, zucchini, green chilis, etc. Also different types of cheeses.

I just found this recipe and it looks pretty good. I would reduce or omit the raisins because they are a bit sugary, and maybe replace the tuna with chicken (but that's just me)

Just a hint for anyone with thyroid issues -- cruciferous veggies aren't good for you -- I used to LOVE cauliflower -- but it messes with me so bad I've had to excise it from my diet completely - no matter the phase...still on the hunt for a good sub because cabbage does the same thing...

i haven't had any trouble with cauliflower. here is a good way to make it: slice cauliflower about 1/4 thick. drizzle olive oil on a cookie sheet and place sliced cauliflower on the sheet in a single layer. drizzle with more olive oil and salt and pepper. bake at 450 for 15-20 minutes.

i have used some curves recipes from my olden days of doing curves.
