It was less than 2 years ago, that I lost my beloved baby sister and my 11 year old niece, as a consequence of domestic violence. It was the kind of tragedy you only expect to see in movies, yet it had become a reality in my family. While I have always been happy to volunteer on occasion, or donate to causes in the past, this experience pushed me to do more. I now actively sponsor and participate in making a difference through the following charities, foundations and causes.
One simple way to make a difference… share it! Even a single share through social media has huge benefits for any website, including charities. Each “share” is like a vote, in addition to creating awareness. Want to make a difference? Send a tweet out with a link to the charity you support and give yourself a pat on the back for helping to make the world a better place! ~ Jen, HDI Founder

Alzheimer's Association – I became active with this organization after my father was diagnosed with Alzheimers. They hold an annual awareness walk in more than 600 communities across the nation- these are massive and inspiring events open to people of all ages, including children. The impact is incredible, and it's truly an amazing experience. All money raised goes toward Alzheimer care, support and research.
