HCG Calculator & Chart: Formula to Calculate Your HCG Dosage
This method can be used to calculate your dose and/or check your math to make sure you are administering the right dose in IUs no matter what the amounts of HCG and mixing solution are used. Once you see the pattern, what might seem an impossible calculation will look simple to you.
A standard vial size is 5,000 IUs. Our recommendation is to mix the contents of that vial with 10 ml of bacteriostatic water. But you could also choose 20ml. Or 5ml * It just needs to be some whole number.
The next step is to divide the IUs in the vial by the ml of bacteriostatic water (or bacteriostatic sodium chloride) you used.
Now, divide the IUs of HCG by the ml of mixing solution to find out how many IUs of HCG are in each ml of mixing solution.
[Note: if your vial contains liquid HCG, you must include the 1 ml water already added in the total amount of bacteriostatic water for your mixture.]The Dosage Calculation formula:
The number of IUs of HCG divided by the number of mls of mixing solution will give you the dose strength per ml. The formula is applied below to the most commonly used amounts.
Chart:
5,000 divided by 10 = 500 IUs per ml
Result: 500 IUs is the the strength of the HCG per ml.
You are now ready to calculate how much you will draw up into your syringe to get your desired dose.
The next step is to determine the dosage provided to you by your physician. The prescribed dosages are usuallY: 175, 200, 150, or 125 daily.
Divide the dose you want by the strength you just got. Following are the dose amounts you would draw up in your U-100 insulin syringe** if your 5000IUs of HCG was mixed with 10ml bacteriostatic water:
175 divided by 500 = .35 – this is the number you use to draw up your dose. It can appear on your insulin needle as .35 or 35
200 divided by 500 = .4 or 40
150 divided by 500 = .3 or 30
125 divided by 500 = .25 or 25
Calculation for 2000 vials
For different sized vials, you will use a different ratio. An arbitrary example:
2,000 divided by 5ml = 400iu
With the above ratio, to achieve a 150iu dose, you would divide
150iu by 400, which would equal .375 on your syringe
Calculation for 10000 vials
10,000IU vial divided by 10ml mixing solution = 1,000iu
To achieve a 150IU dose, you would divide
150 by 1000, which would equal .15 on your syringe.
You can see that this works no matter what vial you have – 2,000 or 5,000 or 10,000, and it works no matter what the amount of bacteriostatic solution you use to mix it.
If you are unsure your calculations are correct, you can post for help in the hcg diet forums and someone will be glad to confirm your results for you.
Details on mixing your HCG.
* Although many clinics and providers will instruct you to mix 5000IU HCG with 5ml mixing solution, our experience has shown that this 1:1 potent mixture makes it harder to draw an accurate dose as some gets left in the needle each time, and harder to adjust dose if that becomes necessary during the round.
By mixing at a 1:2 (5000IU to 10ml) or 1:4 (5000iu to 20ml), dose adjustments are easier, and the HCG may disperse in the tissues better. The only downside to increasing the ratio is that at higher ratios, you may need a separate mixing vial rather than being able to mix right in the HCG vial.
** These calculations ONLY work if you are using a U-100 insulin syringe. There is another syringe style known as U-40 that is mainly used for veterinary purposes which measures differently and requires a different mixing formula.
Be sure your syringes are the U-100 kind. It will be marked as such on the syringe. U-100 syringes come in 3 sizes and hold either 30, 50 or 100 units.
