Please note: SAMe takes a few days to start building up in your system, before you see its full effects. You need to take it 30 minutes before you eat, not with food. So remember to take it on an empty stomach before you eat; I usually take it in the morning, before I eat breakfast.
Hi Pensee! Organ meats are FINE, as far as I hear. Just make sure they don't imbalance your ratio when you add them; make sure you're averaging more fat than protein. I don't believe they have any starch or carbs, so that works too.
Hi lillies! Before you do the PCDS, it sounds like you need to do the Chicken Thigh Day. You need to correct, not just stabilize. THEN, you can do the PCDS (it's a stabilization strategy) after that, okay sweetie? I'll PM you to make sure you get this message.
Hi lilies! For you, 120% of your LIW in equivalent cooked protein is exactly 174. Bodybuilders will tell you this, as it's been happening for years: to increase (gain mass), they'll increase their protein consumption. Just their protein alone makes them GAIN, honey. Know what else? "Normal" folks are recommended to have JUST the equivalent to their bodyweight in cooked protein grams IF THEY DO NOT want to gain any. BUT...us? Because our metabolisms are HIGHER, we can go as high as 120%! So in a sense, we're doing what you thought we're doing. BUT for ANYONE, not even OUR superhuman (hah) new metabolisms....nobody should eat a ton of protein and not expect it to affect us. So, consumption: yes, you can eat more calories. And yes, that's true too. BUT JUST AS WITH PROTEIN....you can't eat whatever the h*ll you want and never expect to gain anything....there's no "unlimited" carte blanche on eating after the hCG protocol, honey. That's something that marketers selling drops online are telling folks to make things sound better than they are (and they ARE awesome....but not THAT awesome, lol). Also, another lie they tell: that "everyone will drop 2 lbs a day! That's normal! Expect that!!"....ugh. For females, "normal" on this protocol is .5-1.5 lbs a day, NOT A STANDARD 2 lbs! If someone (female) is losing THAT much, either she's on FAKE drops and this is the first few days of the protocol, and she's actually STARVING and doesn't know it....OR she's very, very overweight (and that would be okay then). The more you have to lose, the more you will lose per day. So, don't believe the hype, lilies. There's a lot of it out there!
And if you don't mind I got another q. Some posts here say that you can lose up to 10 pounds in phase 3 in correction days I really do need those extra pounds I cut my 1st round earlier. At 1 month doz I got stuck and didn't lose any more weight in like 15 days( bad drops I think) So do u recommend this step and plz if so tell me how to go from here Sorry to burden you thank you
Hi I'm just confused I followed the protein calc u gave my liw 145 so I should have like 200 gm same as 500 diet so whats the difference. I thought the idea was to increase consumption
What about organ meats? Like beef liver, chicken liver/ kidney? Just woundering cause I tend to get anaemic & reading on paleo, where they're recommended for several reasons.
Hi Jilly! Don't worry about trying to figure out where you'll be eventually until your body tells you where you should be. That's the tough part; you'll have to see what your body tells you as you increase carbs and calories. As a general rule, you'll use the second calculator to see what your "normal" calorie limit will be. And wherever you are on the carb re-introduction schedule is where you double your intake of carbs, but get there from where you are over the course of 5 days. The difference in the then-present carbs and the double amount is split up into 1/5ths, and each of those 1/5ths is added over the course of the 5 days. Same goes for the calorie difference between the first calculator and the second; you divide it into 1/5ths and increase it by 1/5th each day until you get there. For me, it meant 103 calories per day to add in. Your protein limit, though....THAT is the only thing that doesn't increase. It's a limit based on your LIW, and if you increase it, you'll gain. You can decrease it if you wish; try to never go below 80% of your protein limit though. So, hopefully that helps! Feel free to read through the "guide" here I created for a full explanation. Have a good one!
Hi Rivyn! I would personally stop both the raspberry ketones and the coffee bean extract that's decaffeinated. The only "helpers" that helped me lose more weight this round than last in Phase 2 are a magnesium chloride supplement (Mag64 by "Rising") that Walgreens sells behind the pharmacy counter (without a prescription). And, One A Day vitamins, the "Essentials" one ONLY. This is because you do not want TOO many vitamins in Phase 2, or too much ANYTHING for your body to get outta whack. You don't want to mess with the protocol too much, my friend, so that's why I chose to take the Essentials line of the One A Day brand. There's a LITTLE bit of starch and sugar and fillers in both supplements I listed, so that's a no-no in Phase 3. In Phase 2 though, what little was in it replaced my grissini/bread stick that's allowed on protocol. But because Dr. Simeons said absolutely postively NO starch and sugar in P3, I stopped it then. BTW: I HAD NOOOOOO CONSTIPATION OR DIGESTIVE ISSUES in Phase 2 this round!!! WOO HOOO!! That's because I took the vitamin and the magnesium supplement. They helped the pancreas continue to secrete enzymes used to break down all that veggie material that usually plugs folks up; without dietary fat, the pancreas just doesn't get stimulated as strongly to secrete enzymes. AND WHATEVER YOU DO -- do NOT take digestive enzyme supplements! I took them my first round, thinking the supplements could make up for the lack of pancreatic enzymes I had from not eating fat. They DID....but my body got dependent on them! Needless to say, when I stopped taking them in P3, my body spazzed out, I developed Acute Pancreatitis, and wound up in the hospital! It took me MONTHS to get back to a normal state and fully recover. Thank GOD I didn't have any lasting damage (that I know of, lol). SO. Rivyn, stop your supplements. But take the One A Day Essentials if you want to avoid constipation, and the magnesium chloride by Rising (the Mag64). Not any other form of magnesium; I won't go off on a tangent, but this one is the best for increasing insulin sensitivity, and also is the best for absorption.
Decaf not decade, pardon my auto-correct.
Oh, also my green coffee bean extract capsules are decaffinated. Does that fit in with your "decade" section?
Thanks for the info! I have quick question I hope you can answer: I'm taking raspberry ketones, and green coffee bean extract pills, mostly just to use them up cuz I feel bad about wasting money on supplements, do you think these are harmful to my hcg diet?
Just posted an update, everyone! I've now specified that no veggies are allowed the first two days, so that should eliminate anyone's future questions on veggies.
Actually, Jillybean, Avocados are great! But not great on these two days, as they have carbs. And egg yolks? I'd not include them, as they do have a tiny -- but still there -- amount of carbs. And a tiny amount of sugar, but it's there. And sodium is in there as well, which could also inhibit a good loss. So, what you could do as an alternative, I believe, is to eat poultry -- any kind -- as they'll always be prone to be more fatty than protein-y. And the protein in egg yolks is still a bummer; you need to find ways of increasing fat without protein at some point or another, and when you add in egg yolks you're still adding protein with the fat. You don't want to go more than 120% of your weight in grams of cooked protein in any day, especially after a Correction Day. So, to up JUST your fat, you COULD remove the skin off some chicken thighs, and just bake them. And eat them separately! Sort of like potato chips that aren't from potatoes. That'd be a much more fun way to get just pure fat in, without sugars/carbs/extra protein/sodium, et cetera. And when you season them, use sea salt (it has lower sodium!) and perhaps pepper (I like cayenne pepper...mmmmMMMMmMmmM). If you have any questions, keep posting! I'll post more ideas as we chat, I'm sure. Originally Posted by Jillybean77 What are you thoughts on egg yolks during these 2 days? HI Julie! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner; I wanted to make sure I didn't post a ranting-and-raving post about the insensitivity of co-workers, family, and friends... But, in short: they just don't understand, because they have been, for lack of a better term....brainwashed. This will sound harsh, because it's an extreme approach (but it will save your sanity). Treat them, in your mind, as people who are incapable of understanding. Don't try to convince them. They're not 'idiots' -- they're just not capable of getting it. From you, at least; they see you through a sort of "lens" of emotion that is all theirs. Unless you're part of "the establishment that is the AMA or NIH or so forth" -- they won't listen. So don't try to "be" the established authority -- just "be you." BE the proof they'll see and touch and feel. Don't speak it, show it. And when you don't drop dead of ___ condition that they thought would be the result of hCG, whatever they were fearing will slowly go away. Be the proof, Julie, and much of your co-workers, family, and friends' rhetoric will melt away. Much like the fat on your body. It's perhaps the most "zen" approach I have been able to use, and it's saved my sanity many times. Now, if anyone asks, "how the heck did you lose all that weight!?!" I gauge them based on personal experience, and decide how much to reveal to them. If I know them well enough to know they have a high trust in dietetic BS such as no/low-fat, I don't go into great detail. But if I know them well enough to know they're a reasonable, logical, open-minded person, I tell them more. If it's a complete stranger, all I say is, "it's a medical protocol, monitored by a physician." Because that's what it is, for me at least. I didn't want to start this protocol (I refuse to call it a 'diet', because that's not what it is -- it's a medical approach, a medical protocol), without a physician's monitoring my progress, and actually hunted for the longest time for one who was knowledgeable and experienced with the hCG protocol. I occasionally slip and call it a diet, but I'd never call it a diet to anyone who was just learning about hCG. So, don't stress, Julie! Don't waste your energy. As for any posting issues, it's no problemo, my friend. I know what it's like to have brain-fog; been there, done that! Still not as bad as it used to be for me, but I'm still improving. I have one more round I'll be doing -- I'm 10 lbs away from ultimate goal -- and I'll be where I need to be, health-wise. Though, as a short person, I'm going to have to start tailoring my clothes soon! I'm a size 4 juniors, size 2 misses. Two more sizes lost (which is one size per 5 lbs, which is what my short frame averages)....means I'll be a size 0 juniors, size...00 misses! WOW! But it's accurate for my frame, and that's okay. I'm currently 19.6 lbs from my lowest healthy weight for my frame (which would be 103 lbs). So, getting down to 112.6 lbs is perfect. Thanks again for the kudos, Julie! Have a great morning. And....I hope everything works out with your test results, Julie! That sucks. I'm not on thyroid meds; I would be, if I didn't do this protocol -- hCG has saved my life, when it comes to my thyroid working better! No joke; everything is "in synch" far more than it was before. It's AAAMAAAZZIINNNNG. I was slowly approaching hypothyroidism before hCG. I'm beyond happy that I DON'T have to take meds after all the wonderful work hCG has done, saving me from ever being truly hypothyroid. Hallelujah!
I know! Soy is horrible. Although I didn't organize the list of goitrogens in level of badness (which is where soy is listed, because it's a goitrogen/thyroid inhibitor), if I was to list all goitrogens from worst to best, soy would be tops as THE worst, perhaps the most insidious thyroid inhibitor out there. It's bad stuff. As for who is getting paid to have soy in all these foods....Monsanto was the biggest proponent of getting soy into our food supply as a cheap source of protein. They're an agricultural corporation. They funded a lot of the studies you hear people reference now, studies that tout soy as a "health food." Meanwhile, soy is in formulas for babies, flooding their little tiny systems with enormous amounts of estrogens -- shooting their estrogen levels way off the charts -- and messing up their little systems far beyond any form horomonal balance. Ever hear of "early development syndrome"...? Much of it has been attributed to the amount of phytoestrogens (soy is a plant-based estrogen, which is what "phytoestrogen" means) in their diet. Soy in baby formula is perhaps the worst of all soy-based offenses. I'll eventually dedicate an entire blog entry to soy, and its excessive use in everything. And....list how Monsanto was the biggest proponent of getting soy re-classified from "non-edible, feed only" food to a one that wound up being classified as "digestible and safe for human consumption." Soy is not digestible. And consuming the huge amount of estrogen within it is far beyond safe. Originally Posted by Newjulie Thanks for the great info!
