    I have tried all kinds of "white" fish without success. I now only prefer Talapia and for me it tastes best when I bake it using different spices with a littel veggie broth for the liquid. I bake a huge batch of fish and chicken on the weekend so I have different flavors for at least 2 weeks. I tried boiling my chicken one weekend and it was really dry and tough for some reason, so I only bake because it's more moist over boilling.

    I've found quite a few cooking vlogs on YouTube and I have a binder of P2 recipes that I've collected.

    I keep my food from sticking by using a little Coconut Oil Spray [it's like PAM]. I know some ppl don't use coconut oil while they are on P2 but I don't have any problems with it an actually lose more when I do use it.

    I've been also thinking about getting an anodized saute pan - like that "Orgreenic" pan that you can find at the "AS SEEN ON TV" website. I also saw Emeril on HSN who advised that you should get an anodized saute pan which is much better than "non-stick". I don't know if that's true but I trust what Emeril says, he is a world famous chef... right?

    I'm still doing my research on that Orgreenic pan.

    Greetings everyone!

    Your recommendations are all very valuable! One of the biggest advantages I have is that my career is as an entrepreneur, and I make and sell spice blends and teas for a living. So I have over two dozen spice blends that I've made personally on hand at all times, and I know that they do not contain anything extra outside of herbs in them. It's actually what led me to come here. One of my customers was an HCG dieter who told me all about it, and expressed how hard it was for her to find flavorful spice blends that were allowed for the diet. Perseverance, I'm a huge fan of cajun blackened catfish and chicken...they were among the first foods I started on with this. I will DEFINITELY take on your advice for the parchment in the oven. I've only just started learning to grill this summer, so I will need to try my hand at that as well.

    As of right now, I don't have a George Foreman grill, but I really would like one now. I have a small sandwich grill that is pretty much the same as a Foreman grill, but it's not because it's not non-stick for one...but the design is shaped for the sandwich bread, not like a grill.

    I'm thrilled to know I can use apple cider vinegar...that will get me through this even more so. Like Perseverance, I don't really want to get too elaborate right now. By nature, I LOVE to cook, especially elaborate dishes. I admit it! I love "gourmet cooking". Whatever that means! BUT on this diet, I find that I have NO desire to cook anything elaborate. I've been VERY content to make lean beef (found 96% at the store!) with just a dash of onion powder...and voila! Dinner.

    I really appreciate all of your advice so much! You guys are also doing so well...this forum really is invaluable!

    Eftimia, you are doing great. I am down 12.5 if you include the four pounds I gained with loading. I used a slight spray of canola oil in my pan I cooked the tilapia in and it did not stick. Next time I'll use the parchment paper trick. Just don't overlook it. I have not been eating just a single vegetable and I know they say not to do that but lettuce is so blah by itself and I can't eat asparagus for a long time. I also ate mixed fruits over the weekend. I was out of town and the cut up fruit looked so good. Will see what the scales say tomorrow as they say a cheat will show up later. Also made pico to spice up chicken and I know that tomatoes onions and peppers are not recommended but I need flavor. Keep up the good work. May have to stop the mixing thing if the scales don't make me happy tomorrow! Jim

    I eat pretty simply. Don't do a lot of the recipe stuff in P2. You can bake your fish on parchment paper in the oven and it will come out moister. Just don't over bake it. I but some blackening spice on mine. Look for some in your stores w/o sugar or make one. I also have a Santa Maria seasoning I use on trout and tenderloin. I buy it but I know there are recipes online. I also buy a spice hunter Mexican seasoning and do my extra lean ground beef in it for a taco type flavor. I eat it on lettuce with lemon or with tomatoes but I don't do tomatoes much as they make me stall. Also I make a homemade chicken broth and have it in the fridge. I can then heat it and put either my cooked chicken or some shrimp in it with either Swiss chard or spinach for a simple soup. I also put blackening spice on my chicken and either put it on the Forman grill or the grill outside. Again if you overlook it it will be dry. And yes you can have apple cider vinegar and braggs organic with the mother is the best for you. congratulations on your incredible loss.

    Hey Eftimia! Congrats on the 12lbs!! Awesome job. I had the same problem with my nonstick pans...everything stuck I bought a George Foreman grill and it was a life saver...cooks things really fast and it doesnt stick! I would also throw a whole package of chicken on the real bbq at the beginning of the week and put them in their seperate baggies making it easier when I am hungry. I found my first round I got creative with recipies but by my 2nd I just used salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. The simpler the better worked well for me. No thinking lol When I cooked my egg+3 eggwhites I would put it in my nonstick pan...add a little bit of water and then cover it with a lid. This worked pretty well! Good luck..hopefully that helped a little.

    Awww, thank you! Cooking for my husband and two boys is a bit difficult, but I think the biggest problem is when we are at someone else's house. A few days ago we saw some old friends and they had over some of my favorite pizza....that was my first official VLCD day...but I stuck with it. Then yesterday was my best friends last summer barbeque. I brought over some ground london broil (it was the only thing I could find with next to no fat on it at the market, so the butcher ground it up for me, hehe). Unfortunately her husband grills everything to a super well-done state. When you can only eat the meat with no oils or mayo or anything like that....it's impossible to eat that kind of burger without choking! It was difficult cause everyone else was eating his flavored burgers along with some of the best smelling bratwursts (my favorite!). One of the guests made this Tibetan dish with long peppers and onions cooked in this creamy cheese sauce. We brought these roasted carrots that we sometimes buy at the farmers market from the rotisserie chicken making Mennonites. They put the fresh carrots underneath the rotisserie chickens as they are cooking so all of the juices from the chicken fall on them as they roast...OMG...they are AMAZING! But considering it's technically FAT falling on them, and that I don't see carrots on Simeon's protocol...it was sheer will power! SURPRISINGLY though I wasn't very badly tempted by any of it. Just a small moment on the brats and carrots and stew....very small. I was happy about that. I started sort smelling the foods and making that enough for the emotional 'need'. At first it didn't do the trick at all. Now it sort of does...but that drive to want to eat it will probably always be there. It really is a learning experience.

    You are doing great! 7lbs is awesome! I found the same thing with my eating patterns. The worst was when I was cooking because I didnt realize how much I grazed. A little bit of this..and that! Packing my husbands lunch was difficult too. It is difficult but a good learning experience. A challenge to conquer! I still cook dinner for my husband every night...dont even take a taste...lick of the finger nothing! It feels great to finish cooking and not have tasted it lol Keep up the great work!

    Jim, I hope you can start going soon. That is very strange! I lost 2.5 lbs. since yesterday, which brings me down 7 lbs. in two days. I can handle that! Pam, I was kinda thinking the same thing, though I can't believe how long it lasted. Nearly 48 hour straight. I woke up this morning and my headache seems to be gone now...finally! Without the headache, this is MUCH easier to handle, lol.

    On another note, have either of you started sleeping incredibly more soundly? Even with a nasty headache the last two days, I've quite literally slept like a baby.

    you are detoxing from carbs and augar. D3 of VLCD i could barely get out of bed. Then it is better. Hang in there!

    You r doing great! Have you ever taken raw gingerroot boiled in water? It helps with naseau alot. I always keep it in my freezer (easier to slice) plus it lasts forever. Also helps raise metabolism.

    Glad the headache has let up. I lost 2 pounds yesterday but feel like I have gained today i peed very little for some reason maybe too much salt. Good luck tomorrow. Jim

    The headache is my biggest problem. I'd use headaches in the plural...but it's been the same one non-stop since yesterday. I still have it. There are moments where it lessens, and then kicks back in gear again. I am trying to find a pattern...foods, caffeine, time of medicine taken, et cetera, but have yet to figure it out. The HCG I have has B-Complex with it. I'm not huge on caffeine normally, so I can't imagine it's lack of caffeine...but I suppose it could be (though they usually last for a few hours, not two days). Either way...hopefully it'll get figured out. Good luck on your second round on the program, and thanks for replying to me! =)

    Yay! Awesome that you lost 4 lbs. I am on my first week of round one (I did it once before last year and lost 32 lbs) so I'm hoping a year later I'll have the same results. But ending this week one I have lost 11lbs but I had headaches too last time and this time they added b12 in my injections and I havent had any headaches. I normally am used to having 2 cokes a day and coffee but i will drink a little bit every couple days (like a half a cup) and have had no gain from it and no headaches so maybe that will help.

    This morning I woke up with a mild version of last night's headache. Makes me want to nap, lol, but am still able to focus. So long as the kids don't scream, anyway! The scale says I lost 4 lbs. since yesterday morning. My scale is sometimes inaccurate by a pound or so, so I'm leery to believe it...but am taking it anyway!

    Hey! I usually get nauseous every round I found just sticking with simple bland food helped me. Not very exciting but it kept the nausea at bay. Mostly salt and pepper. It lasted about a week for me. When I felt really crappy I would have one of my fruits or a pot of peppermint tea. Good luck and stick with it..you will do great!

    @eftimia. Today was vlcd day three for me and the dull headache is gone. Probably sugar and carb withdrawal. My grandsons birthday is this weekend and we normally eat drink and be merry when we are all together at the coast so I will have to take extra doses of willpower with me.

    Awww...thanks Sessy! I'm sure of it too...it's tricky cause we are all a bit different. I do worry about the grissino encouraging me to want more and more carbs because I do like my carbs, lol!

    Thanks for the encouragement Destiny, it really makes a difference! I took my measurements earlier today and will definitely keep it up...I'm very curious to see if there are any changes next Monday! Though I tihnk I'm going to need a new weighing scale for the weight...every time I step on mine it gives a different reading, sometimes as much as 5 pounds one way or the other! I'll at least keep track with the scale at the gym as well. I'm going to continue going....but keeping the workouts to light walking and such. Thanks so much for the reply!

    Best of luck to you! I was eating melba once in awhile on round 1, but ended up giving them up as they slowed my losses. Everyone is different though, so it may work out for you! That's the confusing part of this whole thing. You will find your sweet spot and soar through with much success!
