Cravings and Hunger

Rate this Entry
R1 P2 VLCD4 HCGRx My scales told me this morning that I had lost another 1.6 pounds! I think it would have been more if I could stop craving salt! I couldn't stand the hunger/craving again last night and so I had a couple of ounces of lemon juice liberally salted with sea salt. Then when I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep around 1:30 am I had another couple of ounces of lemon juice with sea salt. Just typing that makes my mouth water. I want more! Even in my non-dieting days this wasn't good for me but I would sit and eat lemons with salt until my teeth ached with sensitivity! I can withstand sweets. In fact my granddaughter left half a cookie sitting right here on my desk and I have no problem not eating it. But lemon juice and salt? Not yet. I seriously think it is making me retain water.

Day 4 into this VLCD and I am still experiencing hunger. My daughter, JoNichelle, says it goes away about a week in. Well, if it's not gone by Friday then I'm gonna talk to my counselor about what else I can do. About an hour before I'm supposed to eat a meal my stomach starts up it's rumbling. I get a little bit nauseous and weak. I start looking at the kitchen and the pantry like a long lost lover. I begin to guzzle water hoping to stave off the hunger pangs but it doesn't really work. Only by sheer willpower do I wait until my meal to eat anything. Once I eat I am fine for a while... but I know the hunger will be back. It's frustrating and I'm gonna have to do something about it if it continues. You can't do this diet if your hungry all the time.

SO... What I wanted to hear from y'all is your pet cravings and how do you deal with the hunger if it is hitting you too. Feel free to share!

Dear God... Bless me and my fellow travelers down this diet road. May our weight loss be swift and our hunger/craving dragons all be slain! *whispers* And if it's not too much trouble could you keep my hands off the lemons and salt?

Lemon juice and salt?? That is an interesting combination. i love sea salt and i never limited while in P2. You might try breaking up your meals, eating an egg or some protein in the am. using your fruits or melba toast as snacks so that you have food in your stomach every 2-3 hours and that should help with the nausea. The first week is the worse and then amazingly your hunger is just going to disappear - it is very strange. Are you taking real HGC? you might want to change your dosage if it continues after the first week. Good luck
    this is an amazing program
I lost 29 lbs my first round.

Thanks for the advice hon. My daughter fixed me a chicken and spinach soup she found in the HCG cookbook she downloaded. It used half a lemon and it was sooooooooo delicious. Exactly what I was craving! I ate two bread sticks today. One mid afternoon as a snack and one after supper as a snack along with an apple.
