Well damn...

Rate this Entry
VLCD5 and I only lost .4. Hmmm... could it be the Miracle Noodles I ate at lunch? Wasn't my fluid intake... Drank enough to float a small boat. Most likely it was the cherry tomatoes/lemon juice/sea salt that I ate around 11 pm last night. I mean a lot of sea salt! I just couldn't stand it any more. I was weak and my counsellor told me if that happened at least eat tomatoes. Well... I'm sure she didn't mean for me to pile on the sea salt and lemon juice. Lesson learned for sure. I still get very hungry. That's really a pain but gonna see my counsellor for a weigh in on Friday and we'll address that issue. I was hoping to lose at least 10 lbs my first week. I understand that is typical weight loss for the first week on HCG. Maybe not.

Yesterdays Food intake:
Breakfast: 32 ounces of water, 1/2 cup coffee with tsp non fat half and half, one sweet and low packet
Lunch: broccoli, chicken breast, miracle noodles/angel hair with lemon and garlic... touch of sea salt.
Supper: Tilapia, asparagus
Snacks: 2 apples
Late night snack: 6 cherry tomatoes, lemon juice and sea salt
Fluids: 82 oz water, 50 oz unsweetened tea with two packs of sweet and low

Dear God... The mind is willing but the flesh is weak! Keep the water flowing, my pee clear and my stomach full.

Your diet menu looks great, but I would cut out the sweet & low and get some stevia packets, my dr said no no on the others, just stevia... other than that it looks like your doing great, I'm not sure about the miracle noodle, I was wanting to try them also

My counselor says that the Sweet and Low is fine too. I don't like Stevia and it's damn expensive? I will try a day without the Sweet and Low tomorrow. The miracle noodles have zero carbs, zero calories... it shouldn't be the culprit. They are delicious. The key is to rinse them really well. They take on the flavor of whatever seasoning you use on them... including lemon juice. They remind me of the glass noodles you can get at a Chinese buffet. We ordered the angel hair miracle noodles and it's kind of like eating ramen. Gives you that full feeling without the weight and the guilt.

I stalled or had minimal loss on Miracle Noodles, I'm not really surprised. I'm not sure why they do that with a lot of people. I never rinsed them either but then again the flavor of doesn't match the smell when pan fried, IMHO. There are a couple different types of Miracle Noodles and a few of them don't have desirable ingredients although they say they are zero this and that. I ate them a few times in the beginning and cut them out and did much better but I did miss them!
Broccoli isn't on protocol either but some eat them. I didn't although it's my favorite veggie.
If you had your fruit and veggies for the day then you would need to cut out that late night snack of tomatoes as well. Best not to eat after 8pm as well.

Keep up the good work, minor adjustments to your eating habits when on P2 will do you a world of service.

Thanks for the input hon. I am going through a clinic and under a doctors care... their "protocol" says broccoli is fine. I am going to not eat miracle noodles today and see if that doesn't make a difference. Yeah... I know better than to eat late night but I did it anyway. I am going to avoid that in the future, hopefully! I just keep getting so hungry! Grrrr!

    You're welcome.

I've heard a lot of clinics tell people they can eat this and that, which is fine if it works but it may be a good idea to follow the actual protocol if you're not losing what you think you could be losing. The only thing that could come out of eating on protocol for a couple of days is answers to your questions. Sometimes it's good to take a doctors advice but it possibly could be that they are allowing off protocol foods to help keep you on the diet rather than have you quit halfway through out of food boredom.

Thanks beecee. Where do I find this list of do's and don'ts? BTW... I screwed up on the VLCD thingy. I am now on VLCD3. I was counting my two load days.

For sure, http://www.hcgdietinfo.com/Dr-ATW-Si...and-Inches.htm and start reading from "The Diet" if you don't want to read all the extra stuff. There are also a few sticky posts in the p2 forum that you may find interesting.

I will definitely check that out. Thanks!

I also don't like stevia, I wish I did. I use sweet and low in my tea. I probably use 8 packets a day and have not had any trouble with it. I only used miracle noodles once, I just wasn't crazy about them. Read pounds and inches, it will help you tremendously!

Keep up the good work and make it a great week!

I could probably learn to like the Stevia if it weren't so darn expensive! I use between 1-4 sweet and low packets a day. Depends on if I make a pitcher of tea or not. I add it to my coffee but it sure doesn't help! I still don't like coffee without my delicious flavored creamers in it.
As for the miracle noodles... I think it depends on what type you get and how you prepare it. It has a strong smell to it at first but that goes away if you rinse it thoroughly. We have only used the angel hair pasta miracle noodles so far and it is very delicious the way we make it. I can't wait until P3 because I'm going to eat mine with lemon and soy sauce maybe ponzu sauce! I did not eat any noodles today so we'll see if that is what stalled me.
I read all about Dr. Simeons diet. It's not very different from the one I'm on. Left off a couple of veggies but added a breadstick/melba toast. Where he calls for 2 liters of liquid a day my protocol calls for 3 liters. So no really vast difference.

Good LORD the amount of fluid you're drinking!!!!! I know, I know, I know. People on here keep telling me that the more water the better. But, the nurse in my head keeps popping up. I just worry about an electrolyte imbalance. There's such a thing as "water poisening". You are eating fantastically. I only lost 5 lbs. the first week, but honestly I'm ok with that. It's a learning process for me. The next week I lost 6. As long as I keep losing, well... I'm ok with it. I can't stand Stevia either. It tastes yuckie. I had to stick with my splenda. I haven't read any reason why the diet tells you to stick with Stevia and I wish they'd give some clinical evidance as to why. I just... can't do it. I only use 2 packets a day, but still.... YUCK! I'm also doing a different form of the diet. I go to a clinic called UniqueU. It's a little different than this, but not so much. So, you keep going girl and I can't imagine your pee being any clearer than it is right now!! LOL!

Am I drinking too much in your professional opinion? They are pretty insistent on the three liters a day. Now embarrassing fact #1: I totally suck at math or anything to do with numbers. So... I have a 32 oz. cup that I drink out of all day long. I try to get three of those in a day plus whatever coffee and possibly tea. I don't know how many oz are in a liter so I could be totally going overboard. Let me know.
As for the stevia... if my choice was only stevia I'd do without. Luckily, that's not what my diet calls for.
