  1. I did a bad, bad thing!

by , May 23rd, 2011 at 06:23 AM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
Well, actually it's a combination of bad things. First of all I forgot to take my regular meds yesterday morning. I had no BM all day. Then about mid afternoon the craving started.... salt... salt... SALT! First I ate a lemon with salt for my lunch and then a shaker of Twangs Pickle Salt magically appeared on my computer desk. Needless to say by the time I went to bed the shaker was considerably lighter than when I first started in on it. *hangs head in shame* Of course I liberally used ...
  2. Yummy Protein Shake!

by , May 22nd, 2011 at 09:02 AM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
Was leery about protein shakes but JoNichelle was doing well with them so I decided to give it a shot. She mixes hers with coffee. I added my own twist to it by adding about six - eight ice cubes and blending it all in my smoothy making blender. You know the kind that makes individual servings? So now I have a Chocolate mochachino smoothy. I'm getting protein, staving off hunger pains and more fluids! Win/win situation all around. I had one yesterday and I had a bigger weight loss than the ...
  3. Excuse me? Do I stutter?

by , May 22nd, 2011 at 06:40 AM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
    stutter (sttr)
A speech disorder characterized by spasmodic repetition of the initial consonant or syllable of words and frequent pauses or prolongation of sounds.

Ok, so stuttering refers to a disrupted pattern of speech and I am referring to a disrupted pattern of weight loss. Potatoes, potahtoes! Stuttering is what I feel my weight loss is doing. Big loss, small loss, no loss, medium loss, small loss, big loss, small loss, small loss. See what I mean? This morning ...
  4. You're hot then you're cold... You're up then you're down

by , May 21st, 2011 at 07:17 AM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
After yesterdays loss of almost 3 lbs, and the excitement of it, todays loss of only .4 was a real let down. I am on VLCD7 and I expected more! What a disappointment. The only thing I did different yesterday was that I snuck in 8 grape tomatoes before I went to bed. I got all my fluids in before 8 pm. I got all my calories in that I was supposed to:

Breakfast - 17 oz of water 1 orange
Lunch - spinach, tilapia, 32 oz of water
Supper - cabbage and beef soup 32 ...
  5. *Happy Dance*

by , May 20th, 2011 at 06:20 AM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
After days of minimal weight loss I woke up this morning to... *drum roll* A LOSS OF THREE POUNDS! Or is it 2.8 lbs? Not sure if I calculated it right. Ok... I'll stop shouting but I am so excited! I was very strict on my diet yesterday, cut out the bread sticks and lemon juice with sea salt. I got all my water/tea in and I didn't eat anything after 8 pm. JoNichelle wants me to change that to 7 pm and really I tried but I had an apple I was eating and got distracted so it was 8 before I finished. ...
  6. My daughter Jonichelle is a Gourmet cook!

by , May 19th, 2011 at 06:05 PM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
Well, maybe not officially, but what she cooks is 99% delicious. Tonight it was River Trout baked with a spinach stuffing. Our local PriceCutters has some of the freshest meats and fish I've ever seen in a grocery store and Jo is always checking it out to see what we can eat on HCG. Our diet says that River Trout is ok and so when she saw the whole ones featured in the seafood/fish case she was so excited. The person behind the counter confirmed that they were indeed river trout caught that ...

  7. Is it too much to ask..

by , May 19th, 2011 at 06:25 AM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
... that maybe our scale is broken? I only showed .2 weight loss today, R1 P2 VLCD5. Definitely the extra sea salt and lemon. I indulged again last night before I went to bed. OK... I knew better and now I really know better. This morning I still have that salty feel/taste in my mouth and back of my throat. Definitely overdid it! I think I need one of those electrodes attached to me that goes off every time I reach for more lemon juice and salt. I gotta stop somehow. I can't keep making ...

  8. Recipe that hit the spot!

by , May 18th, 2011 at 09:03 PM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
My daughter, JoNichelle, read my morning blog post about craving lemons and salt so what did she do? She googled and found an HCG cookbook with the following recipe:

    Lemony Spinach and Chicken Soup
    100 grams chicken
2 cups chicken broth (or substitute 1 cup water for 1 cup broth)
    lemon with rind
1-2 cup cups loosely packed spinach cut into strips
    1 tablespoon onion chopped
1 clove garlic crushed and minced
    1 stalk ...
  9. Cravings and Hunger

by , May 18th, 2011 at 01:28 PM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
R1 P2 VLCD4 HCGRx My scales told me this morning that I had lost another 1.6 pounds! I think it would have been more if I could stop craving salt! I couldn't stand the hunger/craving again last night and so I had a couple of ounces of lemon juice liberally salted with sea salt. Then when I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep around 1:30 am I had another couple of ounces of lemon juice with sea salt. Just typing that makes my mouth water. I want more! Even in my non-dieting days this wasn't ...
  10. Well damn...

by , May 17th, 2011 at 05:52 AM (Atruehearts Adventures in HCG Land)
VLCD5 and I only lost .4. Hmmm... could it be the Miracle Noodles I ate at lunch? Wasn't my fluid intake... Drank enough to float a small boat. Most likely it was the cherry tomatoes/lemon juice/sea salt that I ate around 11 pm last night. I mean a lot of sea salt! I just couldn't stand it any more. I was weak and my counsellor told me if that happened at least eat tomatoes. Well... I'm sure she didn't mean for me to pile on the sea salt and lemon juice. Lesson learned for sure. I still ...
