Do not give in or give up

My brain is my worst enemy at times, or rather my thoughts. I go into anything so optimistic but am not very patient. I want results and stalls are nothing more than an excuse I in the past have gave myself to jump the bandwagon. Not this time I am not giving in as I wrote my own personal letter of intent to myself as a way to off set the negative thinking that tells me quit short, just eat off protocol since your not losing like you should. Well I am not giving up or giving in. I set out to do 30 days and no matter what the scale says I am going to keep going and day by day I will have victory in knowing yes, I am losing maybe slower then I hoped but the weight will come off eventually which is better then not at all. More then that I am learning restraint and discipline and that is a life long skill everyone needs in a weight loss journey. Every time I think of giving in the warrior in me will rise up and say no, not this time. That is what a winner does. Of course knowing when your body is sick is one thing but being able to tell if it is mental is another and so for I am fighting off the mental thoughts that want me to give up and give in. Oh its on! I will win!

Your post really spoke to me. When I started this diet the first few nights I was telling myself that I was having a heart attack or something and I should just quit or something and all the negative thoughts etc. But I held on and the weight came off.. It wasn't coming as fast as I wanted it to so I modified my diet and removed the fruits and melba and had really nice losses. I found through this diet I am an emotional eater and boy did I ever get it in check.. Days where I got angry I found myself rummaging through the pantry for some chocolate or thinking about drowning my sorrows in pizza. That is not the answer. This diet helped me recognize my eating issues and I really got a hold on them now. For the first time in my life I can say I control my weight, my weight doesn't control me.

Blogging daily about my ups and downs was a life saver for me. All the support from total strangers who are now my friends and on this journey with me really helped keep me in line. By reporting my results out here in the open everyday I am accountable.. sounds silly but it really helped! Keep up the good fight!

Thanks for posting this I appreciate it and am glad you have stuck it out and found what works for you. I feel you on looking for junk food, today I named and vented out loud all the foods I was really craving it helped because inside I was feeling tortured by the thoughts of those foods but I acknowledged it and let that emotion out and then drank my favorite tea, talked to a friend and it passed. You sound like a great friend to have and it doesn't sound silly at all we have to find a system that works for us and utilize what ever avenue that is. Thanks and I will fight!

Your post reminds me of many of us when we first started protocol. You nailed it on the head. This protocol really isn't a "diet" but in essence, protocol to help learn about and build a healthy happy relationship with your body and to help "reset" not only your metabolism and hypothalmus...but really to reset your mind about how you view food. As pooks said, do blog here. Find other focuses and realize that food doesn't and will no longer control you; you have better things to look forward to other than just thinking about food! You can do this. You WILL do this! Congratulations on taking that first step! Best wishes!

That is so true what you have wrote thanks for the warm wishes I want change and so it is a day by day thing. Thanks for the encouragement good luck to all of us making change, to you and all hcg'ers
