First day on VLCD

Good morning!

Today is my first day on the VLCD - I have to admit I have some anxiety over the foods that I am allowed to eat and their quantities - even though in all reality the foods themselves are no different then what I stock my fridge with every week - just a little more limited in variety. I of course weighed in this morning (yesterday was a loading day!) and somehow I lost AGAIN - not complaining, but slightly worried that I didn't gain on either day...

Weight: 230.4
Loss: 1.0 lb
Total Loss to date: 3.2lbs

So I lost 3.2 lbs before I even started the VLCD - seems a little strange to me - does anyone here have experience on losses during load days and what their experience was with the rest of the diet thereafter?

Yesterday I ate: Some cake, coffee with sugar, pasta with LOTS of butter and sauce, fried fish tacos with avocado and homemade baja sauce, more cake. Ick. I'm over all that junk!

I'll be back tomorrow to post weigh in results and discuss day 1 on VLCD. In addition to my injections I am now also taking some chromium and benzocaine pills (doctor prescribed) as per their process to help curb any hunger pains if I should get them.

    Hi Butterlover,
    You'll do fine, the diet gets easier as you go, not less boring but easier! There is some good recipe ideas on this site as well. As long as you don't get hungry you will be fine, and if you loaded properly? Good luck on your journey. Do remember this is your journey...

    I'm having the same problem. Though i think mine might have to do with the times i weight myself.Before my loading days i weighed in at 213 then after my first loading day i was at 211.1 now today is my second loading day. I'll see what the scale says tomorrow, oh BTW when i weigh in my first time before loading it was was close to 7pm. and then i loaded and weighed in the following morning at 211.1 so i dk if it was cuz of the time.

    I am injecting and weighing myself at the same time (I took that cue from Weight watchers) so I get up in the morning and use the restroom, brush my teeth etc, then inject between 8:30am and 9:00am and I weigh myself after the injection but before I have consumed anything (even water)! I only wear underoos and a tank top also! Jeans can add as much as two pounds to the scale!

    Oh ok, i have to wait till tomorrow and see if that was my problem I did weight watchers right before starting this. And these two loading days SUCK. My tummy hurts i haven't eaten this much in a day in over 4months. ughhh!

    If what others are saying is true - you will thank yourself! I feel like I probably didn't eat enough fat - because today I was pretty hungry! I know much of it was mental - but I did have the tummy rumblings - I DID save my fruit from lunch at ate it halfway between lunch and dinner - that helped ALOT! I'm having coffee with cinnamon and stevia now while I watch a movie - and saved from fruit from dinner to have as a before bedtime snack. I think the key is spacing things out and not letting your mind get too food focused! Good luck tomorrow! You can do it!
