Reasons why I am liking the HCG diet more than anything I've done before...

  • The brutal diet part is for a very short time. Even before you start, once you have set your start date, you KNOW where the light at the end of the tunnel lies, at least for this round. Other diets dictate that you will remain in restriction either until you have earned your freedom by achieving thinness, or others, like lowcarb and ZC, dictate that you must remain in restriction forever.
  • The HCG makes this severe a level of restriction bearable. I'm on VLCD2, and I keep getting told that the first few days are the hardest. I've been saying all day that, if this is as hard as it gets, and from here on it gets easier, then I'm golden. I truly believe this.
  • This diet has a built-in plateau. Just at the time when minds get weary with the same-old, same-old routine, the same meager portions, the same foods lacking in the richness which we are genetically programmed to prefer, and just at the time when bodies say "WHOA! WAIT A MINUTE!" and stop losing, we get a break from the strict diet, and we are SUPPOSED TO STALL!!!! If that isn't genius, I don't know what is.
  • Because of the shortness of the VLCD period, and the fact that you are SUPPOSED to be on break from the brutally restrictive diet, it is possible to plan special events and vacations without undermining our success. So, you can delay R2P2 for a week or two so that you can attend your cousin's wedding, and not screw up your diet. In fact, you can even plan for your LOADING days to be during that crazy wedding weekend, thus indulging AND being on your diet AT THE SAME TIME!!!!
  • Many other diets require you to live like a hermit until you come out of your co**** turned into a beautiful sylphlike butterfly, even if it takes YEARS. This diet only requires you to hole yourself up for six weeks at a time.
  • This is the one diet forum in which I have seen the GREATEST degree of correlation between compliance and success. If that is not encouraging, I don't know what is.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I so agree about the success stories on the forum. The more i read how positive everyone was responding i got tenn times more impatient for my drops. I keep thinking somethings goiinng to end up happening right before my drops get here and i will never actually get to start. I want to start so bad.

The other HUGE reason I want to stay with this is that, at the end, if we follow protocol, we are endowed not only with a slender figure, but with a certain degree of dietary resiliency. We can eat what we please, but we have controls and mechanisms to avoid lapses, relapses, and collapses of our weight-management discipline.

Very, VERY, VERY good post, Carolina. Extremely interesting, factual points made. I should probably blog it to remember these for myself. Good job.
