How did I get here?

Less than a year ago when I heard about the hCG diet, I thought it mysterious at first. Then I learned about the injections. Oh, eek. Then I heard someone using a cream vs. the injections. Oh, that sounds better. Then I heard about the drops, but read how they might not be as effective.

Well, after months of all this rattling around my brain, I was finally fed up with my size. I guess it's when I realized I was at my pregnancy weight that got my attention. I was able to let it slide, at first, knowing my husband still craved me and I didn't look at all that bad... not terrific, but not that bad. I somehow carry it well with a long waist.

Well at work we started a 12-week company-wide 'Get Fit' program. This started early May. While I attempted to reduce the calories, I wasn't seeing much change on the scale... and feeling a bit hungry, yes. After seeing a co-worker lose a bit on some 'hCG' drops, I decided to look into this more. So once again I was back trolling on this Forum and suddenly the idea of the subq injections didn't really seem all that horrible. After all, I get a weekly intramuscular injection for my M.S., and that isn't so bad. The thought of holding drops under my tongue for so long made me queasy, so opted for the subq injections.

I ordered from YourHCGDiet for the 43-day round and despite really messing up my first batch of HUCOG 2000IU, I did lose 9.4# and very little hunger. I have a new batch mixed up now and Grammy helped me dose down to 140 IU the last two days. It's just about TOM so I didn't show a loss this morning. < Wah > Tomorrow is the second injection-skip day.

Oh, my story..... I returned to the work force four years ago and instead of doing Jazzercise, yoga, cleaning house all the time, I sit on my rear in front of the computer all day. Plus, an emergency appendectomy with a partial perforation in early 2008. I proceeded to gain 25-30# during this time until this May I decided it's time. Last but not least, I will be 50 next year. Wouldn't that be great to lose this unnecessary weight before then? Also, my neurologist prefers that I'm underweight, actually, rather than overweight, so I think she either suggested my goal weight at 130 or 135. I think she said 130, but I don't remember when I weighed that, so I chose 135! She will be surprised to see me on the next visit. Oh, and I told her last year when I was considering the hCG and the VLC, D she was fine with it... as long as it didn't interfere with the estriol levels. Well, who would know about that?!

Oh, and my husband has on his desk pictures of me when I was 18 years old and was trying out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Back then, to try out you sent in two pics and they would let you know if you were chosen to try out. I had the high school photographer take some pics of me, so sent those. Anyway, I had the originals and my husband ended up framing them and they are on his desk (at his home office). It would be awesome if I could ever get to that again. Also, my own daughter is a mini-me and reminds me daily of what it was like to be little like that.

I'm sure I'll think of other unimportant details, but that's it in a nutshell.
