Health and Happiness: My Journey

P3 Day 2: First Check In!

Rate this Entry
Hello My Fellow HCG-ers!

Today is Day 2 of P3, and things have been going well so far! I've been keeping in my apple, and not going as high in fat as many typically do. For P3, I'm going to be tracking my Calories and Nutrients in order to monitor what is working best, and to make sure that I'm building a well rounded way of eating that will make my transition into P4 and beyond as easy and natural as possible. I'm not necessarily going to be limiting them, but I am going to aiming for certain benchmarks that I believe will best fit my plan.

~~~~~~
Here's how my last two days have looked:
(Note: I don't include my coconut oil in nutritional calculations and I'm counting net carbs!)
~~~~~~
{ LDW: 116.4 }
~~~~~~
+ a few pieces of Cocoa Crack throughout the day
Nutrients:
Calories: 881
Protein: 64.9 grams
~~~~~~

Day Two: Tested: Dairy
Weigh In: 116.2 (Eggs are good!)

Breakfast: 3 Whole Eggs, 2 Tbsp Organic Salsa, 2 Slices Gwaltney 30% Reduced Fat Bacon (SF), 1 Oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded) -- scrambled in coconut oil (+ 1 Tbsp Half&Half in my coffee)

Snack #1: 1 Gala Apple

Lunch: 3 1/2 oz Petite Sirloin Steak Stir Fried with Onions and Bell Peppers

Snack #2: 2 Mini Cucumbers with Mustard/ACV/Stevia dipping sauce and 1/4 Cup Blueberries

Dinner: 4 oz Extra Lean Ground Chicken with 2 Tbsp Organic Salsa over 2 Cups Romaine Lettuce

+ a few pieces of Cocoa Crack throughout the day

Nutrients:

Calories: 907

Fat: 45.6 grams

Carb: 34.2 grams

Protein: 77.9 grams

~~~~~~
So that's the gist of things! For now, I'm slowly upping my food intake to ease my tummy into eating more again. Today I braved some blueberries along with my apple, just 1/4 cup of them, and not really enough to cause any trouble. They were delish!
The only thing I've really been keeping in mind nutrition wise is ensuring that as I increase my carb intake, I make sure that my fat intake doesn't go up with it. For now, I'm going to aim for somewhere around 50 grams of fat per day (from healthy sources) and slowly increase my intake of veggies and fruits as the weeks go on. I'm also aiming to keep my protein nice and high!
Hopefully tomorrow morning is kind on the scale. Assuming dairy and I are still pals, I'll probably try some Greek Yogurt with my breakfast along with some blueberries!
I'm feeling so optimistic about this experience. I have so much faith that things are going to go well. I have my confidence, determination, and direction to lead the way! The future really looks bright.
    You are doing great and have a good game plan in place! The only thing I'd suggest is to wait 2-3 days before adding new "problem" foods (eggs, dairy, nuts, etc). It can take some time for sensitives to show up on the scale. I look forward to seeing you succeed!
    Thanks Marvless! I really wasn't worried about eggs since I ate them almost everyday in P2. Different people also respond to allergy foods in different ways. I've been a daily weigher for some time now, and I know that for me, if my body doesn't like something, it honestly lets me know within hours (I have a very sensitive digestive system, LOL)! I've never personally had the delayed sensitivity problem. You're very right though, its always best to err on the side of caution!
    I know you've got this. I mentioned it because there were foods I was able to eat after rounds 1 & 2 that gave me problems in later rounds. I agree about people having varied reactions. Hubby recently noticed that grains cause him mild asthma. The whole food sensitivity thing, although maddening at times is also fascinating to me. It's amazing what the body will do to preserve itself.
