R1 Ph2 VLCD 13

After few difficult evenings due to carb cravins, which I didn't give in to, I am happy to report I lost today 1.1 lb. I had gained yesterday 0.8, and the day before that I lost only 0.2 lb.
It was discouraging a bit, and the cravings were real bad. Instead, I ate extra protein, just to stuff myself. Today, I was pleased with the scale. I had no fruit yesterday, tons of organic spring lettuce and beef with fish (on separater occations). The result was good, even though by the evening I was up like 4 lb, felt like I will explode..
Today, was another story entirely. Was down over a pound.
For breakfast today I had. Sauteed onion and shredded cabbage with 1 tsp of coconut oil. On top of that I pured about half a cup of pure egg whites. Sprinkled with dill and garlic powder (was to lazy to peel). Was very tasty!
I find, after some observation, that my losing body is agreeing with coconut oil. I will keep on observing this, just in case it was a mere coincidence.
Happy weekend, everyone. I hope it won't be difficult this weekend. My son, 5 y. old, wants to order pizza. He likes the process and I do allow him pizza once a month or so. He is really good veggie and fruit eater, so that is why I am not very strict in regards to pizza. And he is so slim...at 5 y. he weighs 35 lb!

How is everyone doing? Any ideas how to curb the carb cravings? Or any advise or tricks at all would be highly appreciated.

P.S. I eat very plain and boring food (with few spices, no salt) while on ph2. So, yesterday, when I sprinkled some Himalayan salt on my spring lettuce with a touch of coco oil, it was so tasty, I ate almost whole box! YOu know, those prewashed kinds, I got the organic spring mix and the other box was organic baby spinach and arrugula. It's weird, how we find the ways to appreciate food...I bet some strawberries on top would be great, but cosco had very poor ones, so I didn't get it. I will look for them today. Also I will get the Magnesium citrate to help me keep regular.
Yesterday, in hopes of regularity, I had psyllium husk two times! And a herb lax. tea at night.
Overall, I feel great! Hope everyone will have a good weekend, which may be the most challenging for some.

    Weekends are the hardest but we will prevail one day at a time. I will have to send you my food diary and you should keep one if you dont already so we can share food ideas incase we get bored. What you think? I keep one.

    I love the idea! I would really like to share and see what you are eating, especially! That way we can compare and see to make sure we are on the right track. My food diary is at medhelp trakcer. What about you? YOu may want to try that one, one old hcger told me about it (old timer, not old by age) and now I love it. I record my weght changes, my food intake, my excercise....Check it out.
    You will need to make an account to see my diary (food), but it's a nice tool.

    Weekends are difficult for me too, I don't go to the gym and my son watches whatever he wants on tv and always keeps me on my toes..Mommy, I want apple, mommy I want ice cream, demands just keep on going....plus preparing food for the family is no happy feast for me, either...

    Omg I love the site. I will track on there from now on. I have my own handwritten diary and I keep a spread sheet at work for during the week. This will be better. Thanks

    YOu are very welcome, I was keeping the hand written diary, too. When I found out about this, couldn't keep up with doing both. There we will be able to see what we both eat, compare and get ideas. I think it was really a wonderful idea.

    I am glad you like it! It will keep you busy for a while. I don't know about you, but when I go online, forums, med help, fb, etc, my time flies! And I get good ideas! I just found some good spice recipes, here on this forum.
    Seasoning Mixes
    Cajun Dry Rub Seasoning
    8 T. paprika
    3 T. cayenne
    6 T. ground black pepper
    4 T. garlic granules** (or 2 T. garlic powder)
    3 T. onion granules** (or 1-1/2 T. onion powder)
    6 T. sea salt
    2 T. ground cumin (I skip this not an Indian spice fan)
    4 T. dried oregano
    4 T. dried thyme
    Combine all the ingredients, blending well. Store in an airtight
    container away from heat and light. Dry rub seasonings can be
    rubbed into meat, fish, or poultry or added to gumbos, pastas, or
    almost any dish that you want to spice up. Perfect as a seasoning
    for fried or grilled chicken, chicken pasta dishes or gumbo.
    Makes about 2-1/2 cups

    Classic Poultry Seasoning
    1 T. onion powder
    1 T. garlic powder
    2 T. dried sage leaves, crumbled or whole
    2 T. dried thyme leaves
    2 T. dried parsley leaves
    1 T. Sea salt
    Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and blend. Put in
    container with a tight fitting lid and store away from heat and
    light. Shake or stir to re-blend before each use.
    This tangy blend of herbs is just right for roast chicken, fried
    chicken, or most any chicken or poultry dish where you want
    flavor – not heat.
    Makes 2/3 cup

    All Purpose Seasoning
    1 T. sea salt
    1 T. garlic powder or crytals
    1 T. onion powder or dried onions
    T. black pepper corns
    Combine in a small bowl and store in an airtight container, away
    from heat and light.

    Old Bay Seasonings - Great for Seafood dishes and gumbos
    1 tablespoon ground bay leaves
    2 teaspoons celery salt
    1-1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
    1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1 teaspoon sweet or smoked paprika
    1/2 teaspoon ground celery seeds
    1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    1/8 teaspoon ground mace
    1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom

    Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Store in an airtight container and store in a cool place. Use with seafood or chicken. Makes about 1/4 cup.
