Phase 2, Day 14 of VLCD (Day 16)

Welllll shoot! Gain. Hmm....if I look at what I did yesterday, the only thing that was different was the shrimp. Too bad because it was DEEEEEEEElicious! I will admit that I ate a little bit more than the 3.5oz because I went on the 3 mile walk with Ashley but I didn't think it was THAT much more. I measured it and only had an extra 2 ounces. Maybe that was enough to cause the weight gain. I made my own cocktail sauce and it was from a "phase 2 friendly" cookbook...

Cocktail Sauce for shrimp & fish

6 oz can tomato paste
juice of 1 lemon
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons splenda
1 tablespoon sugar free maple syrup
(I like Maple Grove Farms made with splenda)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup horseradish
1 1/2 teaspoons hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
salt & pepper to taste
water as needed
Combine all ingredients and put in a jar in the refrigerator so flavors can
blend. Yields about 2 cups depending on how thick you want it.

I didn't use the syrup or allspice or dry mustard. It was mainly just the tomato paste, horseradish, apple cider vinegar, splenda, and salt and pepper. What do you guys think?? I gained .8lbs when I last ate tomatoes. But that same day I had a steak that I had never had before. When I ate the steak again I had a stall so I assumed it was the steak. Maybe it was the tomatoes?

It sucks because so far everything that I have tried except for chicken and cottage cheese has caused either a gain or a stall. I don't know what else I can try.

For breakfast this morning I drank a lot of water and black coffee with Stevia in it. I think I'm going to skip one of my fruit allowances today to see if that will cut back a little bit.

At lunch I had a lettuce and chicken wrap with mustard. So good! Why did I not think of that before! Although, I will be excited when I can have cheese with my deli-sliced chicken! Yummy! I'll try to keep drinking more water but I'm afraid if I drink more I'll float away! I drink at least 2 liters of water each day. Plus whatever black coffee or unsweet tea I have. *phew* Sometimes this diet is exhausting - it's a good thing we can't really work out!! ;-)

For dinner I had cottage cheese with cucumbers and a melba toast. I've also had 2 1/2 liters of water and a cup of black coffee. So...cross your fingers that I lose tomorrow!!!

At the end of the evening, I was starving. Will and Andrew (grrrr! If they weren't my boyfriend and best friend!!!) went to Sonic to get something to eat and brought back one of my favorite things. An oreo blast. I'm actually getting really good at denying the cravings and thinking of other things. But...it's the week before Tom comes to visit. And even when I'm not eating 500 calories I always have the worst cravings!!! Like, uncontrollable cravings. For chocolate, and Chinese food, and chips, and...everything that I can not have. The HCG drops have not really helped me very much with controlling my hunger so I'm really worried that I'm going to fail this week at some point.

I was only going to have one fruit serving but I decided that I needed to go ahead and have that second fruit serving today. I had some strawberries. But it wasn't very satisfying. I want cake, and cookies, and milk, and oreos, and crackers with peanut butter, or butter.....or just food in general!!!

*sigh* This is my last week of phase 2 before I head on to phase 3 and I really don't want to mess things up. But I'm prone to PMDD and this whole not-letting-me-eat thing is going to get really old, really quickly!
