My Journey

Can't count how many rounds-- lost track... maybe round 6?

1 week done- down 7.8 pounds from preload weight.

down 10 lbs even from weight that includes loading gains.

Hoping to have a successful 2nd week.

I definitely notice a different in my energy levels. Prior to starting this round, I was intermittently doing the fmd. I full heartedly did a 28 day cycle of fmd and was able to get back to my LIW of my previous hcg round.
I started to enter a second 28 day cycle for fmd- in order to get some needed bloodwork prior to doing another hcg round. Subsequently, I gained almost 10 lbs. I gained weight because I ate fmd style-- not really following the plan whole heartedly again. I stuck to the food list, just not in the right combinations.. it did not work well for me. After a couple of weeks of not eating the right food combinations, I had an extremely hard time returning to the formal plan.
During the fmd- I was experiencing exhaustion like I've never known before. There were some days that I just couldn't get out of bed. I'm normally the kind of person that takes her children camping and hiking up and down mountains. I bike ride all over and enjoy going to the gym.. but something was going on that was zapping all of my energy and then some. The supporters of the diet were telling me that my body was healing. I believed that in the beginning , but then it just got worse and worse. After a month, I felt I should have had a lot more energy. At least enough to get out of bed.

I was uncommitted about returning to hcg--- but decided that 10 lbs over LIW-- wasn't acceptable. So I started another round.
It was tough this time to drop the calories. I never had such difficulties in the past. Fmd taught me to eat 5 times a day, and now I needed to break that habit. It's a hard habit to break. for the first time in my life- I WANTED BREAKFAST. weird for me!

I'm now a week in.. and I'm feeling great. Energy levels are back up and hunger is mostly gone. I'm trying to drink A LOT of water.

As always, I wish I could feel this good all the time.

I occasionally feel some internal anxieties... but have learned to do breathing exercises to control it until it passes.

I had a similar experience when I tried to eat FMD style but didn't follow the actual plan and portions. The gains started. So I really don't think FMD maintenance guidelines really work, or at least not for those of us that might have some hidden sensititvities. Thats the idea I'm exploring now with The Plan.

Its possible that some food or combination that we are used to having regularly is behind the creeping gains even when eating sensibly and even following food combining rules. That kind of sensitivity can also cause the fatigue you described...so maybe thats a clue for you.

Congrats on a great first week of P2.

    Thanks...

I'm on the fence about sensitivities. I do believe that we have them, but elimination diets don't seem to give me a solid result. One elimination diet tells me I have a sensitivity to a food, but another tells me, I'm ok with it.
I'm beginning to think that I may have a sensitivity to the way I ingest it.. with other foods that is. Possibly the interaction of some foods together give me the sensitivity-- but when I consume it in a different way- I seem to be fine.
I could drive myself mad with all of this. At this point, I really don't believe that I will ever have a solid answer-- mind you, that won't stop me from trying...
