Lane Bryant sent me to Victoria's Secret!!!!!!!

I was bra shopping today and tried on bra after bra at Lane Bryant. I've shopped there for years. You know it's one of those favorite places to shop for us big beautiful women. After being discouraged because nothing fit right, the clerk measured me and told me my "new" size. I proceeded to look again for bras and told her I couldn't find them. She said honey I shouldn't tell you this, but you need to be shopping at Victoria's Secret. I looked at her like she was an alien or something. I laughed and said you've got to be kidding. They've got nothing there for me. She said, if you want a bra they do! Then she asked me what pant size I was in now and I told her 12-14's. She said I hate to tell you, but we've just about lost you as a customer.

I still head toward the plus side at Cato. It hasn't truly sunken in yet that I can and should be on the other side of the store. It's weird because somedays I look at myself and I can't tell that I'm smaller. Will I always "think" that I'm that over 200lb big beautiful woman? I've still got 20lbs to lose before I'm considered to be a normal healthy weight. But, it's weird, I'm beginning to understand how some grossly underweight women still see themselves as overweight in the mirror.

Oh and Victoria's Secret did have a bra for me!

    Awesome to move down in sizes. As for still seeing yourself as a 200 lb woman, well, I'm right there with you. Even at my skinniest, I always thought I was fat or had so much more to lose. Big, Big hugs sent your way. Congratulations on shopping at Victoria's Secret and moving out of the plus-size section. You're an inspiration!

    How sweet! I've been waiting to go through my second P2 before buying new bras. Western sized bras in Asia are too expensive so I can't just pop in and trade down. My present bras have become mere loose sacks of cloth keeping my nipples from showing through my shirts, but I'm being patient.

    That was so AWESOME!! I'm sappy, my kids tell me all the time, but that story actually brought tears to my eyes! How exciting and motivating that must be! And isn't it funny how we never see ourselves quite the way everyone else does? When I weighed 113 lbs I thought I was HUGE. When I got to 130 (a great weight for me) I looked healthy and when I saw pictures of me at 113 I wondered why no one told me I was too thin. Then when I got to 175 and saw a picture of myself I asked the same question, "How come no one told me?". By the time I got to 198, No one had to tell me anymore! But I still didn't feel like I was that big.

    You are doing such a great job! Thank you for sharing this Fantastic story with us! And congratulations for becoming a Victoria's Angel.
