I cannot get the eggs out of my mind. I started reading about eggs, egg beaters, egg substitutes. This is what
I found. has anyone else used egg beaters?
What are Egg Beaters made of?
Egg Beaters Original is made from real eggs, but only the "best part"—the whites. That makes up 99%. Then we add vitamins and other nutrients that would otherwise be lost when the yolk is removed. Naturally colored with beta-carotene, Egg Beaters are a delicious addition to your diet. Check out the What Are Egg Beaters? page for more information.
Are Egg Beaters as nutritious as whole eggs from a shell?
While the traditional whole egg delivers a variety of important nutrients, it also contains 5 g of fat, 70 calories, and a hefty dose of cholesterol—about 185 mg per large egg—all of which is found in the egg yolk. In contrast, Egg Beaters Original is actually more nutritious than traditional whole eggs. By eliminating the yolk, all of the fat and cholesterol and more than 1/2 of the calories are cut out. In addition, the product contains greater amounts of important vitamins such as A, B-12, D, and E, as well as other essential nutrients such as folic acid and riboflavin. Each serving of Egg Beaters also has 5 g of protein.
