P2

Phase2 issues and observations

  1. Insomnia remedies for P2

It's very common to encounter sleep issues or insomnia during P2 because of the very low calorie diet.

There are a some things you can try to mitigate the insomnia. You may find one or a combo works for you. It's important to address, as sleep quality affects weight loss. I've dealt with disturbed sleep for years, so I've done a lot of hunting for ways to make it better.
    1. Cup of hot broth before bedtime. Try having it with one of your fruits. That feeds the adrenals

  2. Braggs aminos in P2 & a substitute

For decades, nutritional junkies have sworn by Braggs as a healthy seasoning product. I think it had something to do with the old belief that if you were a vegetarian, you had to somehow manage to fill in the missing aminos in your diet from not eating animal protein.

But if you delve into the research a bit, it turns out that its "healthiness" is really just hype that everyone bought into. Its a highly processed soy derivative that isn't very natural at all. And for anyone ...

  3. Slow cooker shredded chicken

This is an FMD recipe that can be found HERE. Its not only great for FMD, but also for HCG menus in P2.

This is excellent for adding sauces to (think barbecue, taco, or teriyaki flavors), making wraps or topping salads or adding to soups.

    Ingredients:
6 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. garlic powder
(optional) 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
2 tsp black pepper I suggest adding at the end of cooking or it ...
  4. How much water to drink in P2? (Hint: less than you might think.)

Over the years, the formula to drink half your weight in ounces of water (that doesn't count anything BUT water) has evolved into some kind of sacred rule. However, that's not what is in the original protocol.

    Here's a direct quote:

In fact, the patient should drink about 2 liters of these fluids per day...

  5. Dosing and Mixing Calculations

For the clearest explanation of the whole protocol including buying, mixing and dosing: http://colleencoble.com/2014/colleen.../hcg-protocol/

To calculate your dose no matter how you mix the HCG, use this formula:

I'm going to post Scott's sister's mixing instructions- I find them to be the least confusing to me anyway-

  6. Why it's important to wait the specified times between rounds

I'm at goal now after following the HCG protocol. I waited the suggested times between rounds and followed protocol as exactly as I could. I'm wearing 4's and 6's at a weight which previously had me in 12's. That is so amazing---HCG produces a different kind of weight loss than other diets and you end up smaller than you expect.

Every part of the protocol is important to your success, but I am blogging this post because so many people are tempted to rush the mandated waiting times. ...

  7. P2 dessert ideas

My fave P2 treat: "sherbet" made from one of your fruits for the day (cut up and frozen), 1 T. whole milk, stevia, 4-5 drops of Vanilla Custard Capella drops. (you could also use Vanilla Creme stevia). If you make it with your orange, it tastes amazingly like an orange creamsickle. I whirr it up with an immersion blender and eat it with a long spoon right out of the straight-sided blender container. Easy!

If you consider cocoa powder to be a spice, you can also use it Mix ...

  8. Cajun Spice Blend

I use this all through P2 and beyond, because its a great flavor profile for nearly anything savory. Put everything but the salt in a coffee grinder or spice blender:

    CAJUN SEASONING BLEND
1 Tablespoon each (eliminate or replace as you like):
cayenne pepper (cut this or replace with paprika if you like it milder)
    black pepper
    onion powder
    garlic powder
    chili powder

    1 teaspoon each:
    thyme
    sweet basil,

  9. HCG Rounds history stats

For those obsessed with analyzing how the rounds progress, I'll provide an overview of my 5 completed rounds, all done with HCG injections provided by a doctor. FYI-- I don't count loading losses in the starting weight or end results, only real ones represented by the Net Loss stat. (First week loss does include load weight.) All rounds had the proscribed amount of time (or a bit more) in between them. As you can see, I stabilized most times, but then started to gain between rounds. Weight: ...

  10. Starting Round 6 - short round

    Hi all,

I'm just starting a short round (23 injections) and am on VLCD 2.

I've just joined this forum, but have been reading the information here for the last two years while I've been going through my series of HCG rounds. Its been my go-to place when I had questions, or wanted to see how others were coping with some of the same problems I was having. I've been grateful for that, and offer my thanks to all those who unknowingly mentored me with their questions ...
