R2 / P2 Week One -- Triumphs and Worries

Rate this Entry
So, Week One of P2 came with several ups and downs. For the first time, in week one, I was not losing consistently. I had a big loss on VLCD1, but then no loss the next day... Finally a loss the next day, but then a gain the next. Week ones usually go much better than that for me, so it was a bit off-putting.

Pre-load: 180
VLCD 1: 183.8 (After load)
VLCD 2: 179.2
VLCD 3: 179.2
VLCD 4: 177.4
VLCD 5: 178.0
VLCD 6: 177.4
VLCD 7: 173.4

By the end of the week, I started to wonder if my job has something to do with the weight not moving like it should. I have a part-time job where I'm walking the entire time for 5 hours straight and lifting heavy trays. By the end of my work day, my feet are sore, which I think causes inflammation. When I get home, I take hot Epsom salt baths and take serrapeptase all in an effort to help the inflammation, but those things don't seem to be helping.

I knew the HCG was doing its job because even though the scale wasn't moving in my favor, I felt lighter and looked smaller. I eventually became desperate and took a water pill to help my losses from day 6 to day 7. And now expect my losses to slow down again for the next few days. I don't want to continue on the cycle of having slow losses, no losses at all, or gains -- then take a water pill to compensate. But I do still wonder if my job and achy feet have anything to do with it.

Aside from the worries, all in all, I did very well during week 1, losing a total of 10.4 lbs. (including my load weight). The most I've ever loss during week one is 7.4 lbs., so I'm happy that I broke my record.

I'm also officially halfway through my entire weight loss journey of going from 211 lbs to 140 lbs, so I'm excited about that as well.

I also have a BMI of 24, which officially takes me out of the "overweight" range.

I'm hoping I do better in week 2. I'm following protocol to a tee, adding back in the melba toast and 2 fruit a day. I would like to see if that will make a difference with my losses, because in previous rounds I had good losses when I included everything.

I won't have to go back to my part-time job again until Thursday, so I'm hoping that Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I can have some good losses before I go back to standing on my feet and walking all day then coming home to achy, inflamed feet.
