P4 Week One Check-in

There really isn't much to report. I've introduced some starches with little weight fluctuation. I've introduced some things with sugars as well with little weight fluctuation. I got a Toblerone in my stocking for Christmas (while still on P2) and have held onto that sucker waiting and waiting. Finally, it was mine this week.

I've been sticking to trying to eat to hunger and not outside of that. I still sometimes eat a little past the point of not being hungry, but I never start eating when I'm not hungry with one exception: when I'm heading to class and know I will be hungry before class ends (Tu/Th). I found that I was more likely to go out to fast food when I was ravenous post class. I've combated that by eating before class with very light snacks (we're talking a string cheese bar, a piece of fruit) and I typically pack some fruit in my bag for post class snacking if I feel hungry.

When I do eat, I try to be mindful of the types of things I'm eating. I did have Chinese last week but I tried to be very sensible about it. Overall, I typically eat more healthful things and avoid high starch/sugary foods. I think this is manageable. I'm still indulging here and there. I'm just enjoying eating without those things in high quantity.

My favorite recipe of the week was this one. Spaghetti Squash Lasagna! Lasagna is in the top five favorite foods for me. Total carb/cheese addict checking in! This recipe had some big shoes to fill. It didn't taste exactly as awesome as lasagna but it was incredibly flavorful and absolutely delicious. I can honestly see us rotating it in for dinner on a semi regular basis.

As for weight, here's how things are looking right now.

D23: 183.4
D24: 183.3
D25: 183.2
D26: 182.4
D27: 183.1
D28: 182.7

I would absolutely call my reintroduction to occasional starch/sugar a success at this point.

My measurements didn't change at all in the last week. Here's a look at those stats.

Neck: 13" (-0/wk)(-1.25"total)
Arms: 11.5" (-0/wk)(-1.25"total)
Bust: 39.5" (-0/wk)(-3.50"total)
Waist: 31.5" (-0/wk)(-3.75"total)
Hips: 44.5" (-0/wk)(-5.5"total)
Thighs: 26" (-0/wk)(-2.50"total)
Calves: 14.5" (-0/wk)(-0.50"total)

On the supplement front, I'm taking 2 rounded teaspoons of MSM mixed with 1 packet of Emergen-C in a warm glass of water in the morning. That's about 6,000 mg of MSM a day with 1,000 mg of Vitamin C to aid in absorption. Adding a second teaspoon to the same glass has made the bitterness far more prevalent than the flavor of the Emergen-C packet. It's a bitter, nasty warm brew but it's only a glass of about 6-8 ounces of water so I just choke it down first thing in the morning. The nasty lasts for about 15 seconds and it's over for the day.

I've considered upping the vitamin C since I've upped my dose of MSM, but I'm really undecided. I also take a daily prenatal and a daily Vit D. I really should be adding in calcium as well. This requires remembering to take it separately from the others as calcium is one of those fun nutrients that will take over primary absorption from your other vitamins.

I'm planning to hop into a short round as soon as my three weeks of P4 have reached an end. I'm really trying to soak up all this yummy food while I can and scouting out what kinds of things I might want to prepare in advance for P2. I am excited that it's a shorter round though. Then a longer vacation to let my body catch up to my losses before kicking off a long summer round.

I don't really have anything more to add outside of how converted I am to the hCG style of life. I love the reboot it's given me. I love the foods I've been trying and eating now. I don't ever want to go back.
