First round of hCG

  1. P4 Week One Check-in

There really isn't much to report. I've introduced some starches with little weight fluctuation. I've introduced some things with sugars as well with little weight fluctuation. I got a Toblerone in my stocking for Christmas (while still on P2) and have held onto that sucker waiting and waiting. Finally, it was mine this week.

I've been sticking to trying to eat to hunger and not outside of that. I still sometimes eat a little past the point of not being hungry, but I never start ...

  2. P3 Week 3 Check-in

I had a giant list of things I wanted to discuss about my journey so far. And after a long day of work, which turned into even more work, I totally lost most of it. One would think that I would learn to write things down. Gah. Someday. I'll get there someday.

This week of P3 has been the most relaxed. I'm not tracking things as well as I should be. It could be that I'm back in school and homework is piling up and sucking down time. It could be that I'm just tired of obsessively tracking

  3. P3 Week 3 Check-in Delay

I've been so faithful with checking in on Saturdays. Today just got me. I did a weigh-in this morning and had gains but still within an acceptable limit. I didn't do my measurements. I've added some things to my daily routine to account for. And I have a big post to write. I also had TOM start today which further skews tracking my measurements and gains the tiniest amount.

P4 starts tomorrow for me! It's exciting as a benchmark to being closer to a second round and more losses, but ...

  4. P3 Week 2 Measurements, Food Log, and Notes

Week Two of P3 checking in! It has been so simple honestly. I stressed so badly about starting P3, but it has been my favorite phase by far. I could see letting P3 become my P4 quite easily.

I did really crave something sweet a few nights ago and had a totally failed foodie experiment. I whipped some heavy whipping cream up, added some clear and chocolate stevia, added some black and blue berries. It wasn't thick and creamy like ice cream after being blended together. Maybe more ...

  5. P3 Week 1 Measurements, Food Log, and Notes

I've been using the free app for androids called "Monitor Your Weight" to do daily weigh-in logs. I've been using a free account on MyFitnessPal to keep a food diary. It's incredibly user friendly and so easy to have user submitted information that I can just select rather than input all the nutritional values myself. A lot of times, user submissions are checked by other users and validated as well for extra security in correct input. I have also taken time to input recipes that I'm cooking from the P3/P4 cookbook ...

  6. My Time in P3 so Far

When you stop taking the hormone, you continue on the 500 calories/day for 2-3 days while the hormone works itself out of your body. I have heard that you count those 2-3 days as part of P3. With that in mind, I'm on P3 D6.

I also took my LIW on my final day of hormones. And even as I was doing it, I was talking to my partner and cousin about how I thought my LIW should be recorded the following morning, seeing as how the hormone would still be fully in effect for that day. But I ...

  7. R1/P2 Final Weigh-In

So I've officially taken my last hormones. When all is said and done, I'll have been on hcg for 43 days, a decision made to get three days past my TOM as detailed in P&I. The plan is to remain eating VLC for 24-48 hours while I wait for the hormones to fully exit my system. Then I'll move into P3/Paleo eating for six weeks.

I plan to do daily weigh-ins during that time just to make sure I don't spike very heavily. The first thing I'm intending to reintroduce will be various dairy. ...

  8. Week Five

This week has seen a major uptick in weight loss again. I was incredibly thrilled because while I had hoped and honestly expected to lose 20 pounds, I was really desiring to hit 25 pounds on my first round.

I had lost 5 pounds halfway into the week when my period arrived. Dr Simeon's protocol calls for ending early if your end will be within three days of your time of month or extending to at least three days following.

Since I have extra pellets on hand, I plan to ...

This week had the set back of another family/holiday gathering. At this point, I'm not sure I would recommend starting this diet during the months of October through December if you're not open to your family/friends about the diet.

I ended up eating what I considered to be very sensible portions of food. My protein was definitely acceptable as it was a barely seasoned game hen and I only ate the drumsticks, fat removed. The vegetables ...

  10. Week Three

This past week has been a challenging one. Most of that is detailed below the weekly stats. But one challenge is slow bowel movements. I don't want to eat smoothies every day (spinach), and if I'm not - things seem to move slowly. We're talking every three days slow. So I took to research and found that a lot of people take a magnesium citrate supplement to get things moving. I ordered some after searching for some free of sugars and starches. ...
