I'm on the Highway to Health!

P3D6 Update

I never did get around to blogging yesterday. I've been a little busier than usual lately. P3 has been going really well and I'm still under LIW, but yesterday I added pecans and was up 2 lbs overnight. That's definitely a red flag, but I'm not ready to write them off yet. Remember the gain I had on Monday from hurting my back after my really long walk on Sunday? Well the pain came back with a vengeance last night after I did the glider at the gym. It was bad enough to take an Rx ibuprofen. I'm going to try to get in to see the chiro today and will keep pecans out of my diet for now. The next food I'm adding is avocado, but I'm not going to try it until my weight goes back down.

Here's yesterday's menu:

B: 2 big mugs BP coffee, green juice, HB egg
S: Fruit salad - 3 T pecans, 1 tsp shredded coconut, 1/2 diced orange & 1/2 apple
L: Homemade chicken salad with veggies: lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers & bell pepper.
S: Fruit salad - 3 T pecans, 1 tsp shredded coconut, 1/2 diced orange & 1/2 apple
D: Baked chicken, broccoli with butter, cocoa crack
S: 1/2 grapefruit after gym

I was so tempted to add avocado yesterday, along with the pecans. I'm so glad I didn't. Now you can see why it's so important to add things in slowly. It's hard enough not knowing if the gain is from my back or the pecans, but at least there's only one new food in question and once the inflammation goes down I can try adding it again.

Yes I can see why adding it slowly is important.. Because it will help you identify problem foods etc. If I had to take a guess at it.. I would think your having a combination effect.. between pain and nuts.....hopefully its just the inflammation and you can try adding the nuts again without issue.

my back hurts just thinking about yours! my bet is it Rx ibuprofen, but you have to do what you have to do. Take it slow for the next few days

Pookster, it probably is a combo affect. I hope I can add pecans eventually, but honestly, they have such binge potential for me that it might be better to stay away from them completely. I hope I do okay with walnuts though, because they don't make me binge and they're really good for you.

TomW, I forgot that ibuprofen causes me to gain and it slows down my elimination. I'm feeling a bit stopped up today. I'm downing the water today and have an appt with the chiro at 4:30 to fix me up.

Hope the appt goes well! I can't wait to have avocado again on P3! That will be at the top of my list. I am so glad u r trying things slowly and showing us, as it will help the rest of us a lot when we start P3,

Hi Marv! So glad the chiro helped and you are feeling better! Sorry I missed you yesterday! *Had a not-so-super-pooper* feeling Valentine's day...lol. Doing a bit better today so I'm trying to play catch up!

Your menu looks DELICIOUS!!! As you said once before in one of your posts, I too think my body is "ready to check out" of P2. It's not that I crave food or anything, I'm just kind of tired of having to avoid social gatherings, watching that I don't over exercise, etc. etc. You know the drill.

Quick questions: I'll be getting TOM again I think in two weeks. I'm hoping to be fully into P3 by then. But if for some reason, I am only just starting P3, do you think that will pack on the pounds? I think you finished up TOM this last time before entering P3, right? I'm kind of nervous about that...especially since I got this bug and now I have to try and make up for a lost couple of days. *bummer*
