  1. It's Been SEVEN YEARS...

So it's been SEVEN YEARS since I did the hcg diet - almost exactly to the day. I thought I'd post to encourage others that the hcg journey does not end at the end of P4. It is a lifestyle change to eat healthy, to be mindful of what you eat, and how much you eat. I learned a lot about food, metabolism, and making healthy choices the first time around in 2011.

You're probably asking, "So did you keep the weight off?" The answer is yes, for the most part. I have never "dieted" ...

  2. FFF Day Success

Thanks to MeOnHCG, Lawgal, and Tate for your comments yesterday. I find encouragement everytime I'm on (in?) this forum. Although I must admit that Me's comment that the FFF day did not work for her had me quaking in my boots a bit and scared to weigh this morning.

Yesterday I did the FFF day, with strawberries. I managed to CHOKE down 27 ounces out of the 32. I just could not bring myself to eat any more. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Fage yogurt (see yesterday's post), but ...

  3. It's been a MONTH??

Wow, I just realized it's been a month since my last blog entry. There has been so much going on at work, and home, and stuff in the evenings and weekends (not normally this busy) that it's slipped my mind. I've been reading blog posts, and comments, but just not taken the time to check in myself.

Sad to report that I think I need a correction day. I've been out of P4 for over a month, and while my weight has flucuated some, I'm finding that the losses after the gains aren't keeping ...

  4. Stuff and other stuff

Weird, but I don't have much to share...I'm usually quite prolific (like I need to mention it at all).

Since beginning P4, I've dabbled in adding starches and have definitely added sugar - just not a lot each day. Every day I've indulged in two or three chocolate Easer eggs (those are gone now), a few jelly beans, and even Milky Way single bites (two). I've tried sweet potato, whole wheat bread, skim milk, pears, honey in greek yogurt (last night), and other starches or foods with ...

  5. I have a new love, and his name is....Smuckers PB.

I finally got brave over the weekend and tried Smuckers natural peanut butter. I've eaten NPB in the past, but this was especially wonderful, having had a PB fast for over two months! It was delightful with my apple slices. And - BONUS - no weight gain!! So I have enjoyed a little each day.

I went up .4 a few days ago, so am right at LDW. Went up due to lack of, um, bathroom activity, and it's still hanging on. That's okay though -- still working through the potty issue too, ...

  6. P3 - ready to tell you goodbye...

P3 has been good to me, no doubt. Still holding at 147.7 -- WOOO HOOO!

However, I am soooo ready for P4. I like greek yogurt and almonds; half n half in my chai tea; real, creamy mayo in my tuna; yummy poached eggs for breakfast; eating a cheeseburger without guilt; veggies with the really good dressings. I like all of that stuff, but it is getting BORING.

Word from the wise -- do not, I emphasize DO NOT watch Julie & Julia (with Meryl Streep) while ...

  7. 2000+ Calories and no gains...REALLY??

The title of this blog is exactly what I keep thinking. It occurred to me that I haven't been listing what I eat each day here in the blog only mentioning food here and there. I'm interested somewhat when I read the menus of others, but for the most part find it boring. So for those interested in the foods I'm stuffing my face with, here goes:

    Breakfast:
Two eggs either poached or scrambled. If scrambled, I saute about 1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms with a pat or two of butter ...

  8. Ramblings

Son said to me yesterday, "Man you're skinny!" as he was walking out the door. I was wearing floppy slippers, jeans, and a baggy XL sweatshirt...go figure. Especially love hearing this from him.

I am eating around 2000 calories a day and am seeing no change in the scale. This amazes me because every morning I expect a gain. I have cleared every food I wanted to try -- will venture forth with something new over the weekend.

Getting rid of all of my former ...

  9. Posted Before and After Pics

I finally got up the guts to post my fat pictures! I am mortified to know I really looked like that. Mortified that I somehow let myself get to that point. Can't blame it all on unhealthy eating though. Age does play a part. And it wasn't for lack of exercise because I have always exercised regularly. But I found I had to work harder to maintain, and if I gained a pound or two (or three) it was harder to take that off. Eventually I found myself 25 lbs heavier.

    Don't get your ...

  10. The DMV and the Truth

Yesterday I had to return something at KMart, and had to get out my debit card. While I waited for the transaction to finish, I happened to glance at my driver's license and the weight listed. Then I started to laugh.

Last year when I got my license renewed (every six years in Missouri), I decided it was time to increase the weight on my license to something closer to my actual weight. Especially since I had not weighed 135 in, like, ten years (or more). So I told the clerk, a ...
