P4 begins

Rate this Entry
I didn't eat much yesterday due to a migraine. Switched back to decaf coffee yesterday so that could be why my head hurts. I will also could out the HWC and see if that also helps lighten up the hot flashes. I do notice my weight creeping up when I over do the HWC. So I think a little is OK but 3 cups of coffee with it is too much.
After a few days off I will try half n half...maybe.

I've been up all night with the worst hot flashes and migraine. On top of that I have my 6 month old grandson overnight so this should be an interesting day.

Oh Mewho, I'm sorry about the headache. I remember when I decaffeinated and I didn't really drink very much to begin with but it disrupted my sleep and made me so tired. Hang in there. What is HWC? I sometimes put a very little bit of heavy cream (and believe me it doesn't take much) into my chai tea because it has less carbohydrates than half & half. I think the difference in fat is negligible. But that's right, you are on P4 so have more leeway with carbs and sugars. The hot flashes are a bummer. I don't get them anymore thank goodness, but it was a long road thru Peri menopause and beyond.

Thank you river. Hwc is heavy whipping cream. I had actually switched to decaf prior to hcg then went completely off of coffee through p1 and p2 and my hot flashes eventually went away. I started out doing p3 with caffeinated coffee (mct coffee) but then started adding the cream to my mct coffee so I'm not sure if the cream is causing them or if it's the caffeine or the combination. So I switched to decaf mct coffee with no cream. My hot flashes and migraine are still bad today but I'm sure it will take a few days off before I noticed a difference, probably a full week or so for significant results. I guess that's what this is all about.
I have been having hot flashes for close to our about 10 years and the older I get the wise they get. If coffee is the culprit I will just have a cup on occasion.

The migraine is finally gone. Hot flashes seem to be lightening up slowly so it sure seems to be that coffee is the culprit as it is working it's way out of my system. I will try decaf once everything settles down more.

It's a rainy day today so my migraine is back but lightly. My body aches more than it has since being in this diet and the only "food" that I ate yesterday that was somewhat different was a smoked turkey brat. I have had turkey brats before with no reaction so it was either something in the turkey brat or it's just the weather.
No coffee for me today...just drinking decaf iced tea. The hot flashes were bad again last night and this morning early but they seems to be waning again. I hope this gets better because I can't take much more of it.

I'm not even kidding when I say this. July 6th will be my next round and it can't get here soon enough. I am somewhat looking forward to the limited diet again and anxious to drop some more poundage.

Oh my gosh, really? I don't know why I am surprised, because it was so exciting to drop the weight and I still have at least 25 left to go. But at the same time, it was frustrating to be unable to exercise and eat like everyone else.......of course I'm still not eating like anyone else!!! Nor am I exercising like anyone else...though I did start some basic body resistance exercises today like squats, lunges, pushups, planks and sit ups. 2 sets of 15 seemed like enough to start. I feel so noodly after no exercise. I'm sorry about the hot flashes. If there is caffeine in your tea, wouldn't that have the same effect on your hot flashes?

Hi River. It was decaf iced tea. I haven't had any caffeine for about a week or so ...i think close to two weeks and my hot flashes aren't changing significantly. I'm going to give it a couple of more weeks.

I haven't been exercising like I should be but I'm more active than I have been in the past few years. My husband and I have been doing some landscaping so I'm sore. This kind of soreness makes me feel good and the yard looks good. lol

I also have another 25-30 to lose. I think my motivation to get going on another round is because I'm feeling so good. My pain is significantly better which has allowed me to be my usual active self. I didn't realize how much I missed being busy. Going shopping, walking, gardening, etc. We sometimes take it all for granted so this diet has helped me to see how important it is to take care of my body.

I really didn't think my husband would ever join me on hcg but he asked me what he would need to do to do it with me this next round. He needs to lose 50-60lbs and I can't wait for him to notice the difference with how much better he feels after losing his first 20-30lbs. My 20lb loss alone has made a huge impact on me and he has taken notice. I think it will make is so much easier on both of us to do this together. :-)
