Vlcd 18

Good Morning,
I did so well on my food yesterday until the evening. I had a few (gasp) potato chips , the big ones that are super crunchy and homemade. Not by me I had a handful of popcorn at a play I took my girls to. And I wasn't hungry!! Just bored! Kind of upset with myself but i will get over it. I did not weigh this morning, would rather not look at it! I know if no other reason it will be up because I am puffy today. My wedding ring is too tight, I can feel it everywhere. So today I am drinking lots of water and tea, and eating right. Can't stand the guilt!!
I will not let this get to me
Getting ready for church soon, then not sure what the day holds. It is dreary out. Boo. I do have laundry to do, maybe an hour or 2 at work. I have to get to grocery. Out of fish, chicken, and spinach! Guess I could go ahead and do an apple day though. My husband is home until 4:30 and he is a bad influence. He is the one bringing home chips, wraps, sandwiches, pizza. Yes the same husband that is supposedly doing this with me. He says he is.... no stinking way. He may lose a little weight anyway, but he eats. I need to be strong around him, especially.

How is everyone today?
Julie....you mentioned the Leptin reset....that starts in p3? I have a lot of reading to do about that, scared. I am leaning towards following the original protocol and then consider that after next rounds' p2. But not sure.

PS... what about blackberries?

    Hi Micki, sorry about yesterday. Sounds like you are back on plan today. Lots of water should help. Hang in there! And tell your hubby that if he brings home bad food again, he'll have to sleep on the sofa for a week!

    P3 is still very scary for me. Even though I ate 900 calories yesterday, my weight was the same this morning. I almost started yelling in my bathroom, "this really works!"

    So I tried eggs this morning. Will have them tomorrow too and see how I do. At times I want to run back to the safety of P2... I feel puffy today too, my rings are tight. Much of the meat I ate yesterday tasted salty, so it must be fluid retention.

    Want to hear something weird? In my head, I feel like the 20 lost pounds suddenly returned. I look at the scale and the tape measurer and the way my clothes fit and they all assure me this isn't a dream, it's real, and yet the head games continue. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I just hung a full-length mirror in my closet. My little "I've lost 20 pounds" swagger went flying out the door with my self esteem as soon as I caught sight of the full view. Ugh.

    Why are we so hard on ourselves???

    Tell me what a day o ffood looks like for you now in P3?

    Don't let that head freak you out too much!
    I know when I feel bloated or didn't lose I feel more fat fo rsure. It is weird. And the puffiness from water retention? Makes me feel like I didn't lose any!

    For breakfast, I had 2 fried eggs with some sugar-free bacon. Lunch was ground beef on lettuce with sf salsa (we'll see how the tomatoes do). Dinner was a small steak with butter. Cocoa crack for a snack. Just under 1200 calories. I'll try eggs for a few more days, then I'll add cheese. I want to just add one thing at a time and give it a few days before adding the next new thing. I'm really looking forward to trying the cauliflower pizza crust!

    When do you begin P3?

    I start on Dec 12. How long have you been on 3? Is 1200 what you should have? You can have fruit, right? I haven't looked into it in depth- one phase at a time

    (check my response to you on my "Refections from a Newbie" blog... after you were checking on me. I rambled a bit about starting P3.)

    Today is really my second true day of P3. Friday should have been, but I pretty much stayed on VLCD out of fear. So yesterday, I had P2 proteins, just bigger portions. Hit around 900 calories. I think I'm supposed to get up to around 1500. Folks say to be careful with fruit, so I'm not ready to risk it. Just focused on protein and fat. The key is to add one new food at a time. After 3 days of eating it, if the scale doesn't show a gain, it can be considered a safe food and you can add another. So I'll have eggs for a few days then try cheese, then nuts, then fruits, then nut flours.

    I just told my BF that I can't wait to start Round 2! I love the idea and concept of stabilizing, but I'm also looking forward to losing again. This is the easiest/hardest thing I've ever done. :-)
