Hiccup while in week 1....The TOM (time of the month) experiment experience

Rate this Entry
Good morning everyone!

So far I have lost 9.6 lbs and am so excited!! I'm on VLCD 4 and have already had a hiccup. I started loading January 26 and VLCD started the 28th, I was well beyond ten days of TOM and low and behold on VLCD 3 he came lurking at my doorsteps..... I was utterly DiSSAPPOINTED all yesterday at the fact that he was EARLy... Waaaay early.... I began to frantically research and text my rep because I was freaking out. I did not want to stop the drops so soon after starting. So the decision, to stop or continue through TOM? After research and speaking with my rep I decided to continue.

The research that I found had some interesting info. For some women who started before TOM, he came early. For some that started after TOM, he came again in the same month. For some that continued the drops during TOM, he stayed a little longer than normal and for some that stopped the drops during TOM and restarted after, he came again a few days later. There have also been reports of slow weight loss due to water retention or no weight loss at all when drops are not taken (HCG is not taken) and a little less loss than usual but loss while continuing. Some women find he is a little more painful while continuing HCG and some experienced little to no change. I also read that continuing HCG when our unwanted visitor is hear can increase chances of pregnancy.... Not sure how true, but something I read.

My conclusion, it's a catch 22 situation whether you do or do not take your dose during your cycle. Darned if you do and darned if you don't.... Maybe...So ultimately it is up to you to decide.

I decided to continue on with my HCG and if I discover no weight loss by TOM day 2, then I would stop. After making this decision I then began to research natural diuretics to take while on to decrease my water retention and hopefully not slow down my weight loss. The following items are natural HCG approved diuretics:
-tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic, acv, lettuce, onions and green tea....

My experiment was, and still is, the day before I knew my cycle was coming vlcd 3 or yesterday...lol...when spotting, cramping and bloating set in, I only ate cucumbers in my HCG honey mustard dressing, which I added garlic to, for my 2 servings of vegetables and drank at least 2 liters of water and 2 cups of green tea....My results were 3 lb loss this morning VLCD 4 and first day of TOM and barely any bloating. Being barely bloated was never an option when I wasn't on HCG. I always retained tons of water and was bloated out of this world. I hope this loss and lack of bloating continues throughout his visitation! Lol! I plan on continuing hcg with eating only cucumbers for my veggies, minimum of 2 liters of water and 2 cups of green tea and see what my loss is daily. As stated before, if I notice no weight loss tomorrow i might not take my dose on TOM d2 and on and pick back up on my light day TOM d5.

I will keep you all posted!

Has anyone else been faced with this decision? What did you do? What were your results?

Be blessed,
Miesha
