P4, Vacation and Exercise, Oh My!

It's been a while since I last checked in, mostly due to my being on vacation for the past week and a half and partly because our home internet service provider has gone out of business and I'm trying to find a reasonably-priced replacement... which is very hard when you live out in the sticks. But anyway, P3 and P4...

In my defense, I had a lot working against me: 9+ hours car travel, lack of/inability to stay properly hydrated while traveling, and an abundance of food up at my parents' place, where DH and I were staying. Birthdays, desserts, out-to-eat, it was insane just how much I ate. I put on a few pounds during my visit (I was 163.4 this morning, ugh), but I also got ten times the exercise I usually do. I hiked up two Georgia mountains, sweated gallons, and walked 30 minutes just about every single morning. My legs look awesome. (Perhaps I put on some muscle? I hope so.)

But the outdoor excursions were a grim reminder of how out of shape I am... and there's really nothing I can do to help it. My day begins at 6:00 am and ends at 8:00 pm, and there's precious little time where I can truly do something that gets my heart rate up. I have some girly dumbbells and I do stretches, but I really really really miss walking. Out here in the country (and humidity, and unpaved roads, and summer mosquitoes which I am fiercely allergic to) I have no real place to walk. No gym, even if I had the time for it. I bought a mini trampoline last summer, but I quickly realized it is too painful (I'm top-heavy) for me to jump on it. I'm going to have to get creative if I want to keep my heart healthy...

So. Today I'm going to eat clean and try to come up with ideas of how to incorporate some light cardio into my day. I entered into P4 on July 2, and I'm scheduled to begin Round 2 on July 23. Looking forward to moving ahead!

The Next Morning...

Down 2.2 pounds (currently 161.2) after a day of clean eating and walking around the block during my break(s) at work. I must have been water-bloated and/or had a lot of waste working its way out of my system. Hopefully I can get back down in the mid 150s before I start my second round. In any case, I'm glad it's Friday!
