My Journey to hCG

Rate this Entry
My name is Jessica, I'm 22 years old, 4'11" and have yo-yoed with obesity since I was young. I recently hit 167 pounds, the heaviest I've ever been and at 4'11" a very unhealthy weight. I have a heart murmur and pulmonic stenosis which means one of my valves is nearly closed therefore I have an irregular heart beat and my heart has to work overtime to circulate the blood in my body. I've spent months off and on going to the gym only to be discouraged and scared by my heart rate climbing to a terrifying 199 BPM in a matter of 5 minutes on any cardio machine. I realized I would end up putting myself into cardiac arrest or end up spending the rest of my life obese and unhappy.
It wasn't just a health issue, it was also a self esteem issue.

Since I was young I was always deemed the fat friend to the most popular girls in school. I'm a very fun person with an outgoing personality, extremely fashionable, and so I always got along well socially. It wasn't until high school that I realized I was just the token fat girl everyone put up with. Perhaps what hurts the most is the names I've been called. Because I am so short my height makes my stature even more awkward. I've been called everything from Turkey to Oompa Loompa. And the worst is it was from people whom I thought themselves were fat. Which lead me to realize I'm even heavier than them.

I heard about hCG a year ago perhaps but didn't quite know much about it aside from it being a hormone pregnant women have and that it's taken as drops under the tongue. Fast forward to about a couple months ago and a coworker started the diet. She lost 40 lbs. I was immediately interested having just stopped going to the gym yet again. And so here I am starting my very own journey on the hCG diet.
My personal goals include finally weighing less than my boyfriend of 7 years, not being the fat friend any longer, and reaching a weight that is healthy for my height. I know it will take a lot of dedication and motivation but I believe in myself that I can do it.

-Jessica

    HI Jess and welcome!

You are so young to have these health issues. I applaud your determination to make some healthful changes. Are you planning to do the program under medical supervision? I really hope so. I have been having heart fluttering and some other things going on --- not nearly as serious as you and the first things I read on the site was the thread about medical conditions and HCG. I also read tons on the internet to make sure I felt secure to start the program. I am in my first round and feel wonderful and hope to get these pesky weight issues out of my life --- like you --- having carried them around since I was young (for me ---- lot of years ago )

I wish you great success and am looking forward to hearing about your great results real soon.

You can do it Jessica! It's nice to see that you're taking charge of your body. No, it's not easy, but this program is well worth the effort. I'm on R2 VLCD5. I work out regularly, but don't push yourself. Listen to your body and take it in small steps. This works!

CONGRATS on making a decision to improve your health and self! The best advice I can give is plan, plan your meals for days, pre measure & freeze meat it will help a lot and keep you from "just grabbing" something quick. You have joined a great group plenty of advice, encouragement and laughs. Good luck on the journey to a new you! Stay encouraged

Welcome. You will do great. All you have to do is stick with it and follow protocol. It is great you are doing this at a young age. I wish I would have. Good luck to you!

Hey Jess, Congrats on taking the plunge! I'm 21, and 5'1...my highest was 212, so I can definitely feel ur pain, lol. HCG is a total life changer, and although I still have a bit of a ways to go I finally weigh less than my bf of 3 years so I can tell you that's an awesome feeling, and for me personally makes me feel more comfortable around him, even though he never judged me (and has yet to acknowledged any of the 70lb's that I've lost which makes me feel better about it, lol)....I really hope you do well, and if you stick with it like perseverance and healthierhappierme said, you will definitely be successful.

    Good luck! :-)
