Why does it seem like weight loss doesn't exist in a bubble? When one is busy and stressed, when disappointment or tragedy strikes, or when things are just crappy, being on a regimen is somehow... comforting? The confinement of food parameters seem to take away the intellectual need for menu preparation -- what a relief!
In case you (if anybody reads this) don't know, I'm a homeschooling mother of 3, and hitherto a businesswoman in the midst of creating a tutoring center aimed at the homeschooling population here in the East Bay of San Francisco. Well, yesterday the town in which I was to locate the center informed me that I needed, as the permit applicant, to pay a $2000 retainer fee to the town's planning department so that their engineers, etc. could "study" the compatibility of my center with existing businesses. This is a retainer -- more could be needed. What? Pay for the *possibility* of a usage permit? I could get denied after all that money and time (2 months)?!?! Ugggh! Ok -- put off plans for the center until at least January... all that hard work down the drain...
The good news is that I lost 2 lbs...
I wonder if Charles ****ens ever had to diet...
