P3? weigh-in: 124 Ugggh... I'm sick. I don't know how any of you manage to diet while sick, but all I want is comfort food. Thusfar, I haven't completely cleaned out the cabinets, but, with no exercise going on, my weight is hovering around where it's been for these past few weeks. Blast! I was really hoping for a starvation-like shedding of a few pounds, but no, not really... I'm really hungry, but now I just don't have other distractions and I can't ...
VLCD10 Weigh-in: 123.4 Ah ha! I should have known: crabby, bloated, voracious appetite, varicose veins throbbing... Yes, it's TOM. Well, that explains why I'm having trouble staying on protocol... I'm disappointed it took me almost 9 days to lose almost 6 lbs (post-load weight 129; present weight 123.4). But what did I expect with all the cheating? uggh...
VLCD9 Weigh -in: 123.8 How flexible should one be within this plan? I read with admiration the posts of those who go "rogue" and wonder how their losses are going. I know that calorie consumption and weight loss are unique to each individual; so how much of what others prescribe is helpful? Surely there are common denominators between all of us, or we wouldn't be here Eschewing carbs has always been impossible for me. Apparently, adding too many ...
VLCD3 weigh-in: 124.5 This morning I went for a 2 mile run. This time, I used a different route, one that I had used before, but that was not my part of my normal regime. I thought about a lot of things during that journey -- how much harder it is to exercise while dieting, how my aging body is responding slower to fitness efforts, how my footstrikes made a rhythm, how people should really pick up after their dogs, and, interestingly, how following through on a diet plan *is* ...

VLCD2 Weigh-in: 125.6 Why does it seem like weight loss doesn't exist in a bubble? When one is busy and stressed, when disappointment or tragedy strikes, or when things are just crappy, being on a regimen is somehow... comforting? The confinement of food parameters seem to take away the intellectual need for menu preparation -- what a relief! In case you (if anybody reads this) don't know, I'm a homeschooling mother of 3, and hitherto a businesswoman in ...
Weigh in 124 Ugggh... I thought I was a genius for suggesting the Counter for dinner last night... My no sugar/dairy or wheat daughter could get a burger in a bowl of organic greens, I'd order the side salad and take a piece of her burger, And the rest of the family could get what they wanted... Fries... Right in front of me... I don't think that a handful of fries should have made me GAIN .5, but it did... Either that or I've clearly got more time to ...
Oh... my... gravy... I miss chocolate. If there was a single reason to do this diet, it's for the detox benefits of breaking an addiction to my lovely brown drug. Of course, there's *not* a single reason to do anything; my others are, in no particular order: getting into my Lucky jeans, being able to run without 10 extra pounds, looking better in a swimsuit, recovering a weight that had eluded me for 4 years, feeling like I'm in control of my intake and not the other ...
Weigh in: 126.6 (how did I lose almost a half pound stuffing my face? Dunno, don't care). If the rest of the diet is this easy, I think I might just disappear. Hamburgers, quiche, chicken cutlet... yum! For dinner -- sushi! Oh, I'm going to miss you... Loading when you have children is tricky. I feel like a closet eater: sneaking into the kitchen when they're outside to play, trying to justify the sudden appearance of brownies and pizza. I'm not sure how I'll ...
