When Life Throws You A Curve Ball

Rate this Entry
I was rushed to the ER this weekend, had surgery (gall bladder removed) and am now back home as of 1 hour ago. I am in P3, but had to eat some P4 foods in order to get discharged. All their veggies had corn, peas and carrots. I scraped the gravy off of the meat and was denied (for surgical/testing purposes) 3 meals.

I am just gonna jump back on board with P3. I have not weighed since Friday morning. Not too concerned as I would rather be alive and healthy than worried if I gained any weight. I can not exercise or drive yet and will be working from home this week. No BM yet, but I am scared to take Mag Citrate or anything as I am still having some pain and do not want to strain or cause any additional pain.

The doctors said that I was in perfect shape and all results were great. This was my 1st surgery ever. If you have any indigestion problem, or heat burn, get it checked out no matter what. I did earlier this year and my insurance stopped my tests and said that they would not pay for them. So I did not press the issue. I should have. I felt that if I lost weight it would go away and my problems did. My body loved P2. But as soon as I started P3, my body started to fight back.

Remember: You are your only advocate.

Have a great day and take care of your bodies.

ohhh babes! ((hugs)) sorry to hear about your weekend! I totally agree, the most important thing you can do is take care of yourself. I am so proud of you for wanting to get right back on the wagon and finish eating P3 style. I can imagine how easy it would be for someone just to give up in face of such adversity. You might want to consider staying away from the scale for a few days - who is to say if you gained anything at all, but, if you did, I would hate for you to be upset or frustrated about it - because like you said, it's so much more important that you are alive and well.

I hope you recover quickly and that the pain subsides soon!!! ((hugs))

OMG, are u feeling better now? I feel so bad for u, and agree totally with Katie, and what she said above. If I were you I definitely would not worry about weighing for a few days. Meds, anesthesia--they can make u retain water, and you do not need to be concerned about that right now. Just take care of yourself, let others help take care of u, and get better soon. (More hugs coming your way!)

Thanks. You are right, no weighing for me. I feel bloated and swollen, definitely not myself. They only thing is that they do not want me to eat high fat and P3 says that I can. Day by day. Definitely feeling better. I accept all hugs.
