My Weight in Enviroment

Here's thinking that this losing weight thing goes far beyond the numbers on the scale. The loss of weight changes our entire enviroment. There is a heck of a lot going on right at the moment.

Every day in the mirror, I gain a new appreciation for myself. Tonight, I put on a "home alone-comfy-was my favorite-I felt thinner" dress. And it was very loose. Wonder what MsTenYearsAgo would say about the scale reading today.

Meanwhile, my children behave differently about food. They've grown very respectful of my eating choices, muster up the occasional interest. And they eat at home more. Sometimes they even eat healthy choices. I'm simply hoping my example and change of habits gives them some good examples while there's still time for them to take starboard tack and avoid the damage I did not.

Beyond my home, my friends fall into two categories: Way to Go, Keep Going! and the ones who feel compelled to justify to me why it is they are not doing the same thing. The groups do fragment from the "want to know everything" to the "cool, glad it works" when they have inquired how.

My employers casually comment about anything BUT my weight loss. I don't know whether to be annoyed or amused. I do know they interact with me more, and I feel a greater sense of confidence in my work.

There is a new craving to be social again, and interactive again - and my spirit seems reach out, seeking similar motivation, spirit of adventure and zest for every day in the people I want to be around.

I read a post earlier..(LAV) on the old board. "....my weight in cat litter...."

Cat Litter is the one item I most dread carrying in from my car. So I just went out to the garage and checked out the box. I had to lift it. and it was heavy! Heavy as in 31 lbs, minus what had already been used. I stood there holding this box that represented about half of what I'd lost since May. That's alot of me gone.

Leaving me so much closer to the society from which I have lived just a bit removed.

This changes everything. We treat our enviroment differently because we are different, we feel different. Our enviroment reacts to that energy and the new visual stimulation and treat us differently in return. Differently, but not necessarily better or worse.

I'm enjoying this enviroment.

Love it about the cat litter! I had my husband bring in a 35 pound bag of dog food from the car and told him that it was equal to the weight I had lost. He was shocked.

It makes one really see how we are full participants in what environments we live in. We can affect how the world treats us.
