Notes from a messy clean up round..the stall continues...

Rate this Entry
So I have been doing a pretty lousy job on this round since the first day of my new job last week. It started with being taken out to lunch by new boss the first day. That was a week ago today. Then on Friday I had a blood sugar drop and resorted to the junk food snacks that are EVERYWHERE at this office! Then on Sunday I ate a chicken caesar salad when we took the kids out for dinner even though I PLANNED on just having iced tea at the restaurant.

The pretty lousy part comes form my continuing to "blow it" the rest of the days I stumbled or was caught off guard.

I don't remember struggling like this in R1. Every day I make it through sticking to protocol feels like a victory, whereas last round, it was just another day.

So, now I will be extending the round another 2 weeks to give my hypothalamus a real chance to reset. Sigh...

Starting a new job is always so stressful. It really takes a mind set to stick to this diet and perhaps you simply have your mind set on another priority right now with the new job and that sure would be understandable. Maybe try a planned interruption?

actually, I have been doing really well AT the job with regards to food. They celebrated National Chip Day yesterday. Can you believe that? National Chip Day! They brought in @ 20 kinds of chips and @ 10 dips! And I didn't come close to touching any of it.

Cookie tray from Paradise Bakery today. Didn't touch it. And the HUGE candy jar and bagged snacks are replenished twice a day. Didn't touch the snacks till I had a really bad blood sugar drop late Friday and had to eat something. What I don't get about myself is continuing to eat with that "I already blew the day" mentality that got me into the need for hcg to begin with!

Susan, I so feel your frustration. When I started my second P2 I had a lot of problems at the beginning as I kept eating little bits of gumdrops and peanut butter, etc. Finally after a couple weeks, I buckled down and just said no more but protocol, but it was hard and frustrating as I had never done that on my first round. And I did not go off protocol in P3/P4. I think the fact that you have started a new job -whether you are cheating there or not- is stressfull. It is a life-changing event and so don't beat yourself up too much -just do what you planned and go a bit longer and you will be fine.

Thanks for the encouragement, jdc! I'm back on it!

Just curious, susan. Are a lot of the people in your new office chubby? Geez, I've heard of offices that like food, but National Chip Day, you gotta be kidding me!

Dubbles, there are two women on hcg! They are both chubby. One is on P4 and does lots of steak days. I'm not sure which phase the other one is on. There are a few very overweight people, but the majority are average weight. There are two women who have absolutely KILLER bodies!

I just know if I get into the habit of "going there", I could very easily gain 10-15 pounds in a blink.

National Chip Day must be something created by a snack food company!

I am packing extra protein, like @5-6 ounces. Yesterday I ate it all, and I didn't give it a second thought. I just had @2 ounces of veal for dinner.

Far better than having a need for something and having to resort to the junk food like last Friday!
