Round 4...Starting out heavier than ever...le sigh...

Rate this Entry
Well, here I am doing Round 4. It's actually Round 10 or 11 for me because I had several failed attempts to get back on the wagon.
Long story short, I was very successful at my first round of HCG back in 2011. I lost 26 lbs and kept it off over a year (doing a short round in May 2011 just to get back in the correct mindset.) Fast forward to last Spring, I herniated a disc and had to do round after round of steroids for the pain. I did a short round of HCG in June and got back down to about 120. Needless to say, I continued to struggle with the back problem and just gave up.
I decided to give it another go as I know this really works. I know that you must be ready to undertake some challenges and be strong but I am ready now and pray that my back pain will stay manageable throughout so I won't need to take anymore Prednisone.
I loaded over the weekend and my weight yesterday was 141.4. I did protocol and was not hungry til late last night so I will tweak my dose a bit today. I know it may take a few days to find my "sweet spot" but I am ready to get on with the show.
I found that blogging helps me tremendously. I will try and be faithful about posting throughout even if it is only a weigh in entry.

I am using Hucog 5000iu currently but have Corion (which I felt did better for me in my first round) on order and will switch over when it arrives.

Here we go!

Round 4
Hucog Injections

Load Day 1 135.6
Load Day 2 137.0

Post Load 141.4

VLCD 1 141.4
VLCD 2 136.4. (-5)

I wouldn't beat yourself up about finding yourself back here. Prednisone can be so difficult on people and I've seen tiny people blow up while on it. I'm curious about your height. I started my round 1 at 140 (post load) and I'm stable at around 127. I'm 5'5" and have some additional fat to lose so I'm doing a vanity round soon.

I look forward to following your progress. Blogging was a lifesaver for me during my round.

Also, let me know when you find your sweet spot dose and what it is and how much you tweak. I had trouble finding my sweet spot at all.

I have herniated discs too. This is my 1st time doing this diet though. I stopped going to get those injections a long time ago myself, because they really don't work for me. After I injured my back & the a month later quit smoking, I've gained a whopping 100lbs. I am a little over 100lbs heavier now than I was before my back injury. I was in so much pain often that I went into a deep depression & just gave up on myself. My back was messed up, I couldn't work the job I had anymore, probably never again, working out was too painful, I was out of my mind! I still have pain on the regular but not as excruciating as it used to be, although some days are better than others. I wish you the best of luck on your journey of weight loss. Doesn't sound like you need to lose near as much as me. Have a Blessed day

Sweetness... You were an inspiration to me when I did R1 last October reading your posts/blogs! I know you can do it.... I started at 137 before loading and stabilized at 126.5. LIW was 127. I knew I still had a little more to go so I am in R2vcld9. I have lost 6 so far and probably won't go much more.... I'm here cheering for ya!

Rabo... I am an inch shorter but weight was exactly were you are/were. The biggest challenge this round was getting the dose accurate. First round I went through doc and this round I am flying solo.... Started at 125iu (like last round) but way to strong this round.... I have settled at 105iu and feel fantastic now..... Apparently, doses go lower as you do more rounds....

Stacy, Kidsmom, and Willa.... Keep it up.... The goal is attainable!

    Happy losing!

Hi there! So sorry to hear of your back troubles too! Mine is herniated at L4, ruptured L3 and L5 and the herniated disc is impinging on a nerve going down my right leg. I have had 3 nerve blocks and can't have anymore until Fall so I just have to suffer thru it. I have also had Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 16...almost 25 years so that doesn't help any either. All they do is wanna give me pain meds and I just don't want to take those all the time. I am thinking about trying acupuncture next. We will see.
I only need to lose about 20 lbs. The first time I did HCG, I went from 139 to 112. I don't want to lose quite that much this time. I promised my Mama that wouldn't so I will probably be content at around 118.
Good luck with your journey. This is really a great place to come for support!
