VLCD 4...9 lbs down and some Supplement info

Rate this Entry
Hey Y'all!
I am moving along nicely so far...knock on wood. I weighed 132.4 this am which is 9 lbs down since my post load weight of 141.4. Pretty happy bout that but I know it will slow way down from my experience. My first week is always stellar and then my second week, not so much. I am not gonna dwell on that tho because I know that if I do stall out on the second week, it will pick back up the third week.

So, in my blog yesterday, I mentioned that I was gonna start some supplements. I actually went back and pulled this list from my blog in my first round....WAY BACK in January 2011. I got the benefits of each supplement from a HCG book I had back then but have yet to be able to sit down and read it over again. These are the supplements that I did take in my first round.

-One A Day Women's Multivitamin
-Potassium Gluconate 99mg - Helps support nervous system and cardiovascular health. I take it to prevent leg cramps.
-Coral Calcium 1000mg- Supports bone strength and promotes heart, nerve and muscle functions. I have read that Coral Cal when taken on the hcg diet may help with weight loss, especially fat loss in the mid section of the body. The body absorbs more Coral Cal than other forms of calcium.
-L-Carnitine 500mg- Supports coronary health. It assists in the breakdown of fat in cells to produce energy and is essential in making fatty acids available for energy in muscle tissue. It is an amino acid that occurs naturally in our brains, liver and kidneys. As we age, L-Carnitine levels diminish and we become more susceptible to Alzheimer's disease, depression, fibromyalgia as well as type I and II diabetes.
-Chromium 200mcg (three times daily) - Helps to keep blood sugar under control and will keep you from having intense feelings of hunger. Bringing your Chromium levels up while on the hcg protocol will help to eliminate headaches.
-5-HTP 100mg - Precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter involved in sending messages through the nervous system. You should take 5-HTP if you get really hungry in the late afternoon or evening. It can raise serotonin levels making you feel better instead of depressed.
-Biotin 5000mcg - A water soluble B vitamin that is essential for the intermediate metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Also helps to support healthy skin and hair. It is said that Biotin may work better than Chromium to control intense cravings. **THOSE WITH TYPE I OR II DIABETES SHOULD AVOID TAKING LARGE AMOUNTS OF BIOTIN DUE TO THE EFFECT ON BLOOD SUGAR!!**
-Liquid Vitamin B-12 1200mcg - Plays a role in energy metabolism in the body as well as helps to maintain a healthy nervous system.
-Apple Cider Vinegar Tablets - Purifies and helps to cleanse the body.

I take the above once a day. I have purchased, but not began the next two. I have been adding them slowly as to not upset my stomach. I take half of the ones I take now with lunch and then half at dinner.

-Krill Oil 300mg - Omega 3 oil and powerful antioxidant. May help reduce cholesterol, reduce PMS symptoms, and arthritis relief. **IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO SHELLFISH, KRILL OIL MAY NOT BE GOOD FOR YOU!!**
-L-Glutamine - An amino acid, this supplement will keep you from craving sweets, starches and alcohol. You should especiall use L-Glutamine if you have cravings that last all day long.

I will begin these two over the next couple of days. I have not had any cravings so the L-Glutamine was not a priority to me. However, I do have rheumatoid arthritis and am eager to begin the Krill Oil.

These do have trace amounts of cellulose, oils, gelatin, etc. to make them. They do not seem to affect me thusfar.

That posting above is from my previous blog entry in January 2011. Upon reading them over again, I think I will begin them all again as thinking back, they all really did help me. Especially the 5-HTP which controls hunger/cravings in the evenings. That is a biggie for me. I have some of these on hand and will pick up the others when I can.

I also have a Probiotic Acidophilus and a Probiotic Multi-Enzyme Digestive Formula that I took daily back then as well. Those helped alot but I have yet to find my research on such. When I find it, I will post it here.

Please be careful if you are going to take any of these and read the labels. There may be something that you are allergic to in the formula.

Onto tomorrow...Have a great day peeps!

I am seriously blown away at how fast you lost 9 pounds.

I followed protocol to a T and drank lots of green tea. Keep in mind I have only lost about 3 "virgin" lbs because I weighed about 135 prior to loading. It will slow WAY DOWN for me. I may even go up a lb or 2 but I am trying hard. I don't eat any of the breadsticks or Melba. Never have. And I have only had chicken and tilapia, spinach, cucumber and lettuce. Half an apple twice and raspberries. I am just doing what I learned worked in my first round. I am having 92% lean ground beef tomorrow. Will see how that goes.

    Hi Miche...
I started at .150 of Hucog but then I got new Corion and did .125. It seems to be working well. Last time my dose was .150 Corion.

I decided against the beef today...having tilapia!
