Muscle Doesn't Weigh More than Fat

Rate this Entry
An acquaintance told me today that it is just a myth that muscle weighs more than fat according to Dr.Oz. So I googled it and it made me giggle. All my google results were articles about how a pound is a pound and a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat. Well duh. Of course a pound is a pound and a pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle as a pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of bricks. But what I said was muscle weighs more than fat, not a pound of muscle weighs more than a pound of fat. So by mass, a pound of fat takes up much more room than a pound of muscle. Why is it that people are so anxious to prove you wrong that they overlook the obvious?

Agreed. I have seen it on this forum! Just because it was the same weight it not the same as the volume or the mass in this case. " Idiots, I am (or we are) surrounded by idiots" ~Quote from Ren and Stimpy~
