Trudeau outlines a 30 day plan of cleanses and preparative eating to get ready to do the 2 loading days. He calls that Phase 1. Most people don't bother with that, and its not necessary to have success on the protocol.
To most people on this forum, if you say Phase 1, they interpret it to mean the 2 loading days. Dr. Simeons doesn't even call that loading...he calls it "gain before loss".
So the protocol is:
- 2 days of loading while taking HCG (eating as much as possible, concentrating on fats and indulging in some favorite treats)
- Then the rest of your HCG doses while following the 500 calorie protocol diet.
- Then....72 hours of the very low calorie diet without the HCG dose to give it time to leave your system (or 48 hours if you are on homeopathic drops)
- Then... 21 days of stabilizing (Phase 3) where you eat whatever you like except for starches and sugars, and maintain your ending weight within a 4 pound window.
- Then... at least 3 weeks of Phase 4 (before a second round starts) of carefully re-adding starches and sugars until you find your personal balance point for the amounts of those you can handle.
Note: for each additional round, you have an increasingly longer Phase 4 time in between.
