Thread: How about women over 50? Any interest?

Coll VG, I've found that the 3rd, 4th, 5th days are the roughest and then the hunger is switched off. Hang in there!

I think I should have left off the PNW part - more important is that we give each other confidence that it can work for us - at least that's what I'm hoping for. I've been practicing taking the drops and drinking more water. I've also been feeling crummy for no apparent reason. One guess is that after reading about people doing VLCD I think I have what husbands of pregnant wives go though - sympathy pangs! I did get out on the bike today but really would have rather napped on the couch. Anyway if I felt like this while doing the diet, no doubt I'd be blaming it on the diet. I'm getting psyched up though!!

Hi everyone! I'm 54. Currently in R1/P2/hhCg & Day 17. Have lost a total of 13 pounds thus far. I'm currently doing the Apple Day Diet today to see if it ups my weight loss as of tomorrow. I feel that I'm 2 pounds short of what I should be weighing (@ an average of 1 lb. loss per day). I started at 140 lbs. and as of today I weigh 127 (same as yesterday) which is why I'm doing the Apple Day Diet today. Maybe I shouldn't be paranoid as per Dr. Simeon it's common to reach a "plateau" (where you feel that you didn't lose weight or stalled for up to 4 days). Look at me - I only stalled 1 day and I had to do the Apple Day Diet. I'll see what happens tomorrow! Kudos to all of us 50+ folks. We can do it! Yaaaaay!!

I am over 50! Won't say how far over... Lol

I love this and feel wonderful when I am doing it. Seriously I wish it wasn't so intrusive in my life with the VLCD because from the way I feel I would love to be on this forever.

    Hi Everyone,

I am 51 headed for 52 in February. Yes it does work. I lost right at 52 pounds in 2 rounds but put back on some with bad choices and stress. I am ready to get the excess off planning to start back January 1st. As you can tell I have been around a while and I totally believe in the process. Good luck everyone.

    Hey Ladies,
    can I join in?
I'm 54. I've done 3 rounds previously, and this summer I got back into bad habits and gained back 20 lbs.
But today is VLCD2 and I lost 4 lbs yesterday. Most of it was probably water, but WOW! I love this feeling.
Way to go to all of you and here's to it being a "loser year".

I'm 51 and this is the most amazing diet I have ever tried(Atkins is a close second). I tried for over a year to lose weight that had crept back on from to many binges the year before. The Monday before Thanksgiving I started and yesterday marks -24lbs. This diet is an mature womans dream!!

    Greetings!

Another newbie here R1/P2/injections and 57 years! (Is that old???) Anyway, so far so good. I'm all about feeling better and looking hot! Glad to see there are many here who've had success regardless of age. I feel more hopeful about this weight loss option than I have in a long time. I've been pretending my weight doesn't bother me, and it just wasn't true. Honest is the first step to healing. So much of my life is magnificent, and there's no reason to not allow that same magnificence to shine in my relationship with my body and my food.

    Blessings to you all!

I am 57 and desperate! I ordered my injectable HCG waiting for it to come.
    Read Dr. S's manuscript.
Am wondering if this will really help me as I don't eat becuase I am hungry.
I eat out of habit I just love food! It is compulsive I think.
Yes it is VERY VERY easy to put weight on over the years. Especially when you get over 50 ! I am up to 284 and scared to H_LL!
Never weight this much with BOTH pregnancies!
    I feel SOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo DESPERATE!!
I just really HOPE this will work for me like everyone else.
Gee 500 calories it sure should. Now just HOW do I MAKE my hands NOT go
to the refrigerator to get food? I have no will power anymore!
